Baisha Li Autonomous County, an Autonomous County under the jurisdiction of Hainan Province, is located in the west central part of Hainan Island, between 18 ° 56 '- 19 ° 29' n and 109 ° 02 '- 109 ° 42' e, adjacent to Qiongzhong Li and Miao Autonomous County in the East, Ledong Li Autonomous County in the south, Changjiang Li Autonomous County in the West and Danzhou City in the north. Historical evolution
From the Yuan Dynasty to the Republic of China, Baisha belonged to Qiongshan County, Ding'an County, Danxian County, Lingao County and Changgan county.
In the 28th year of the reign of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty (1689), "bosha camp" was set up as a military stronghold to garrison troops. After that, "bosha" evolved into "Baisha".
In the spring of 1935, Chen Han Guang planned to establish five counties in Wuzhishan Li District. In April, the Civil Affairs Department of Guangdong provincial government officially approved the establishment of three counties: Ledong, Baoting and Baisha. Baisha County is divided into Danzhou, Changjiang, gan'en, Ding'an, some Li districts of Ya county and shuiweiying, an enclave of Qiongzhong County.
In November 1958, it was incorporated into Dongfang County and restored in 1961.
In 1987, Baisha Li Autonomous County was established.
