Yongxing County is a county under the jurisdiction of Chenzhou City. It is located in the southeast of Hunan Province and the northern border of Chenzhou City. It is adjacent to Zixing City in the East, Suxian District in the south, Guiyang County in the west, Anren County and Leiyang in Hengyang City in the north. It has jurisdiction over 10 towns, 4 townships and 2 sub district offices. It has a total population of 711000 people (544000 permanent residents). It is the second largest county in Chenzhou City and a national "urban mineral" demonstration base.
The area is narrow and long. It looks like a silkworm. It is 90 kilometers long from east to west and 56 kilometers wide from north to south. The total land area of the county is 1979.4 square kilometers, accounting for 0.93% of the total land area of Hunan Province. The eastern part is mountainous, the western part is mainly hilly, and the central part is distributed between hilly plains. The Beijing Guangzhou railway, Beijing Zhuhai Expressway, national highway G107 and provincial highway S212 run across the county, and the Bianjiang River in the upper reaches of Leishui river is navigable in four seasons.
In July 2020, the National Patriotic Health Association decided to name Yongxing County as the national health county for the period of 2017-2019.
Evolution of organizational system
In the fifth year of Gaozu (202 BC) of the Western Han Dynasty, Bian county was established. It was named after Bian River in the territory and belonged to Guiyang County.
In the first year of the founding of the people's Republic of China (9), the new king mang changed Bian County into Bian Ping County, belonging to Nanping County.
In the first year of Jianwu in the Eastern Han Dynasty (25), the "new" Fuhan office was abolished, and the old names of counties and counties were restored. Bian Ping county is called Bian county again, belonging to Guiyang County.
The Three Kingdoms belong to the area of Wu, which belongs to the county of Guiyang.
In the first year of song Yongchu (420), Bian county was merged into Chen county and subordinate to Guiyang County. In the third year of Chen Yongding's reign (559), Bian county was restored and was subordinate to Guiyang County of Xiangzhou.
In 589, Bian county was merged into Chen county again.
In the 13th year of Kaiyuan (725) of Tang Dynasty, Zhao Jin, the governor of Chenzhou, made an analysis of anling County, which is located in Beisi township of CHENXIAN county and belongs to Guiyang County of Jiangnan Road. In the first year of Tang Tianbao (742), anling county was changed to Gaoting County, belonging to the southwest Chenzhou Guiyang County.
In 1073, Gaoting county was changed to Yongxing County according to the proposal of Li SHIXIE, the prefect of Chenzhou.
The Yuan Dynasty belonged to Hunan Road Chenzhou road.
In the Ming Dynasty, it belonged to Chenzhou Road, Chenzhou Prefecture and Chenzhou Zhili Prefecture.
In 1724, Yongxing belonged to chendao, Hengyong, Hunan Province, and Zhili, Chenzhou.
In the first year of the Republic of China (1912), Yongxing belonged to Hengyong Chengui road in Hunan Province.
In 1914, it was changed to Hengyang road.
In 1922, the Dao system was abolished and became a county directly under the provincial government.
In 1937, the province set up the eighth administrative supervision district.
In 1940, it was transferred to the third administrative supervision area.
After the liberation of Yongxing on October 4, 1949, it still used the name of Yongxing County and was subordinate to the special district of Chen County in Hunan Province.
In November 1952, it was transferred to the southern Hunan administrative region.
In July 1954, it returned to Chen county.
In 1960, it belonged to Chenzhou district.
In 1977, it belongs to Chenzhou area.
In June 1994, Chenzhou City was built from land, and the county has been attached to Chenzhou City since then.
Yongxing was divided into four townships and 20 capitals in Qing Dynasty. Changqing Township lived in the central and southern part, Yongxing Township in the middle and northern part, Yandao Township in the East and Jinling Township in the West. During the period of the Republic of China, one town and 14 townships were set up. The former Changqing township is divided into Huancheng township (now Chengguan suburb), Wushi township (now Bitang) and Longshan township (now Xiangyin); the former Yongxing township is divided into Sanwang township (now tangmenkou Xiangmei), Renyong township (now Huangni), Jin'an township (now Jingui Zhangshu), Baihe township (now Bailin Taihe) and Dongyi township (now Dongkou); the former Yandao township is divided into Shilong township (now qijialongxing dabujiang) and TANGMING township The former Jinling township is divided into Yunfeng township (today's Youshi), Wenliang township (today's gaotingyangtang), Yueyou township (today's Yuelai youmashantang), Taiping Township (today's Matian) and Tanlei township (today's Fuhe).
In 1958, 11 people's communes were set up in Yongxing County. After seven adjustments to 1983, they were established as 24 communes (Chengjiao, Bitang, xiangyindu, Youshi, Fuhe, Matian, Gaoting, Yangtang, Youma, Santang, Yuelai, tangmenkou, Huangni, Jingui, Xiangmei, Zhangshu, Bailin, Taihe, Dongkou, Liyutang, Qianchong, dabujiang, Longxing 7 A) 333 production brigades.
In 1984, there were 337 administrative villages in 24 townships of 2 towns. In 1986, the organizational system was adjusted. Matian township was merged into Matian town. Xiangyindu, tangmenkou, Jingui, Bailin, Liyutang five townships were removed and built into towns. Yongxing County has a total of 338 administrative villages in 18 townships and 7 towns. In 1990, huangtuzhou village was added to Longxing town.
In 1996, Yongxing County covers an area of 1979.4 square kilometers and has a population of about 603000. In 1997, Majia and Hantang villages in xiangyindu town were merged into Shengli village.
In 1998, Youshi township was abolished and Youshi town was established. After the adjustment, the county governs 8 towns and 17 townships.

In 2001, Bianjiang and Shuinan villages of Chengguan town were included in the county's three cell economic and Technological Development Zone.
In 2002, small villages in Santang Township merged with large ones, and seven administrative villages, including Datang, shigu, chongtou, Zhushu, Daegu, dengjiachong and Sanjiangkou, were merged and abolished.
In 2004, Yongxing County governs 8 towns and 17 townships: Chengguan Town, Matian Town, xiangyindu Town, tangmenkou Town, Jingui Town, Bolin Town, Liyutang Town, Youshi Town, Chengjiao Town, Bitang Town, Gaoting Town, Yangtang Town, Fuhe Town, Youma Town, Santang Town, Yuelai Town, Huangni Town, Xiangmei Town, Zhangshu Town, Taihe Town, Dongkou Town, Qianchong Town, dabujiang Town, longxingshi Town, Qixiang town Jiaxiang. The county government is located in Chengguan town.

In April 2012, the original 25 townships were adjusted to 21 townships, of which 8 townships were adjusted to 14 townships and 17 townships to 7 townships. Chengguan Town, Chengjiao Township and Bitang Township were abolished and merged into Bianjiang town. The system of Liyutang town and Qianchong township was abolished and merged into Liyutang town. In December 2015, villages and towns in Yongxing County were adjusted and it was agreed that Fuhe town and Matian town should be incorporated to establish Matian town. It is agreed that Santang Township and Youma township should be incorporated into a system and Youma town should be established. It is agreed that Xiangmei Township and Jingui town will be incorporated into a system to establish Jingui town. We agreed to abolish Youshi town and divide its administrative areas into Bianjiang town and gaotingsi town. It is agreed that xiangyindu, tangmenkou and Bianjiang will be incorporated into a system to establish Bianjiang town. We agreed to change Gaoting town to gaotingsi town.
