Taihu County Taihu County, a county under the jurisdiction of Anqing City, Anhui Province, is located in the west of Anhui Province, at the south foot of the Dabie Mountains, adjacent to Qianshan city and Huaining County in the East, Wangjiang County in the south, Susong County in the southwest, Qichun county and Yingshan County in Hubei Province in the west, and Yuexi County in the north. Taihu County was founded in 420 by Emperor Wu of Song Dynasty. In ancient Chinese, "Tai" is sometimes used with "Tai" and "Da", and "Taihu" means "Dahu". Therefore, Taihu county is named after lake. According to the records of Nanji annals, it is named because of its great lakes. On May 18, 2019, Taihu County was selected into the "list of the most beautiful counties in China in 2019". Taihu County in the Western Han Dynasty is the land of Huling, belonging to Lujiang County. In the Eastern Han Dynasty, the Huling County in Anhui Province still belonged to Lujiang County.

In 448, the 25th year of Yuanjia in the Southern Song Dynasty, Zuoxian County in Taihu Lake was set up because the right was respected and the inferior was left. According to the geographical records of the Sui Dynasty, in the early days of kaihuang, the name of Jinxi County was changed to Xizhou, and the name of Zuoxian County in Taihu Lake was changed to Jinxi County. In the 18th year of kaihuang reign, Jinxi County was renamed Taihu County. The name of Taihu County was changed from "left" to "left". At the beginning of Yangdi's great cause, Xizhou was renamed Tongan County, and soon it was still called Tongan county.

In the first year of Tianbao (742), Shuzhou was changed into Tongan county.

According to Taiping Huanyu Ji, Taihu county is located on the side of Longshan lake. Because there are large and small lakes all over it, and the pronunciation of "Da" is pronounced as "Tai" in the local dialect, it is named "Taihu Lake", which means "Dahu Lake". According to the records of the unification of the emperor and the Ming Dynasty, Taihu County was originally located in Wanshan, with large lakes and small lakes. That is to say, the area of Dahu River and Xiaohu river is now inundated by Huating lake. "Taiping Huanyu Ji" records: "in the last years of Yuanjia, the county lived in the mountain and moved to the plain, 38 li away from the old county." from then on, the county government moved to the old town of Jinxi.

In the fifth year of Zhenghe (1115), Shuzhou was transformed into Deqing army.

In 1147, the Deqing army was renamed anqing army. In the first year of Qingyuan (1195), Anqing army was promoted to Anqing Prefecture. Taihu County successively belongs to Deqing army, Anqing army and anqing Prefecture. The Yuan Dynasty belonged to Anqing Road, and the Ming and Qing Dynasties belonged to Anqing Prefecture.

The first year of the Republic of China (1912) abandoned Fu Dao, Taihu county directly under Anhui Province.

In June 1914, it belonged to Anqing road. In August of 1928, Dao was abolished again and the county was directly under the province.

In the 21st year of the Republic of China (1932), Anhui Province was divided into ten administrative supervision districts. Anqing road was the first administrative supervision district. Taihu County was set up in the district (moved to Tongcheng County in April 1940).

In 1945, the first administrative supervision area was renamed anqing special area, and Taihu county belongs to Anqing special area.

In March 1949, Taihu County was liberated. That night, the CPC Taihu County Committee, county government and anqing Commissioner's office moved into Taihu County. Taihu county belongs to Anqing District of Wanbei administrative office.

In August 1952, Taihu County belonged to Anqing District of Anhui Province.

In 1988, Taihu County belonged to Anqing city.

The long river runs through the whole county, with a total length of 81 kilometers.
