Idiom story
In 676 BC, Ji Guizhu, the son of Duke Wu of Jin Dynasty, inherited the throne, namely Duke Xian of Jin Dynasty. In his later years, Duke Wu, the father of Duke Xian, married Qi Jiang, the daughter of Duke Huan of Qi. After Ji Guizhu succeeded to the throne, he married his concubine Qi Jiang as his wife and gave birth to his daughter, Bo Ji, and son Shen Sheng. In the later political marriage between Qin and Jin, Bo Ji married Duke mu of Qin as his wife, which was the beginning of the so-called "friendship between Qin and Jin". Later, in order to be friendly with the Central Plains in the future, Duke mu of Qin proposed to Duke Xian of Jin, who married his eldest daughter to him. Later, Duke Xian of Jin was old and fatuous. He wanted to make his youngest son the heir of the monarch, so he killed the then Prince Shen Sheng. So the other two sons, Yiwu and Chonger, fled to Liang and Zhai respectively. Later, with the help of his brother-in-law Qin Mugong, Yiwu became the king of Jin. But soon, Yiwu lost peace with the state of Qin. He sent troops to attack the state of Qin, and was defeated. He also asked his son to be a hostage in the state of Qin. Only in this way can the relationship between the two countries be repaired. In order to win over his son, Duke mu of Qin married his daughter huaiying to him. In the society at that time, it was a matter of getting closer and closer, and the relationship should be very stable. However, when he heard that his father was ill and his family was destroyed by the state of Qin, he was afraid that the position of king would be passed on to others and ran back to the state of Jin. Duke mu of Qin immediately decided to help Chong'er become king of the state of Jin, take over Chong'er who fled to the state of Chu, and marry his daughter Huai Ying instead. The next year, he became king of the state of Jin and became Duke Huai of Jin. Later, with the help of Duke mu of Qin, Chong'er became the new king of Jin and became the Duke Wen of Jin in the famous "five tyrants of spring and Autumn Period". Therefore, the good relationship between Qin and Jin represents a kind of political marriage, which is the union between countries. But later, the marriage between men and women is also called "the good relationship between Qin and Jin".
