Linhai National Geopark is located in the east of Linhai, adjacent to the East China Sea, with a total area of 166 square kilometers. The Geopark is composed of baiyanshan volcanic relic, dakantou volcanic relic, Shangpan Aoli pterosaur and long tailed bird fossil burial relic, and layered rhyolite geological relic in wukeng and Longwan areas. It is the representative of Cretaceous volcanic activity in China and is known as "natural geological museum". Geological relics are the historical records of the development and evolution of the earth, and are a kind of non renewable natural resources. Geological relics are the physical materials for people to understand the development of the earth and carry out popular science education, which has high scientific research value and social value.
