Shibaoshan Scenic Area

Shibaoshan scenic area consists of Haiju temple, Baoxiang temple and shizhongshan grottoes. Among them, shizhongshan grottoes are known as Dunhuang on the Southern Silk Road.

Introduction to scenic spots

Haiyunju is the first Buddhist temple to enter the Shibaoshan scenic area. It is located on the left side of the gate of Shibaoshan mountain. Facing the clean sword Lake, standing on the viewing platform in front of the temple, you can have a distant view of Yulong Snow Mountain, The stone umbrella mountain at the back of the temple is composed of three peculiar stones, which look like umbrellas and are covered with stone lotus flowers. It is said that the three immortals are intoxicated with the scenery here and forget the umbrellas here to become stone umbrellas.

Haiyunju, with its ancient cypress, Qingfeng and Songyin pagoda shadow, was founded by monk Pulian, an eminent monk in Jianchuan during the reign of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty. Once he entered the three courtyards, the terraces were stacked high. The scale was small, but the layout was rigorous. It is the most intact Temple in Shibaoshan. Among them, the lattice door is the wood carving of Jianchuan in the reign of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty, with exquisite knife technique and ingenious composition. The bronze bell hanging in the hall was cast in the 22nd year of Jiajing reign of Ming Dynasty (1543 AD).

Baoxiang temple is about 5 kilometers away from haiyunju. It was originally built in the late Song Dynasty. The existing temples are built in the Qing Dynasty. Around the temple, there are milk forming springs, jagged rocks, and the Buddha's appearance, so it's Chen Baoxiang. The temple is built according to the cliff. The hall is inlaid on the cliff. The pavilions and pavilions are connected by the plank road. The flying Pavilion and flowing elixir are like hanging void, so it is also called hanging temple. From the foot of the mountain to the Jinding temple, we have to climb thousands of stone steps. In his travel notes, Xu Xiake wrote, "when you look up at it, you can see that the cliffs are stacked on top of it, and the clouds are flowing back to the peak, like the twelfth floor of Hibiscus, which is dazzling and frightening."

Traffic information

There is a CMB from Jianchuan County to Shibaoshan. The distance is about 20 kilometers and the fare is 12-15 yuan. It is recommended to charter a car from Shaxi ancient town to visit Shibaoshan, the fare is about 150 yuan / day, and you can also walk a lot less in the scenic area. There is no sightseeing battery car in the scenic area, only walking.
