Puji Temple scenic spot

Puji temple, also known as the front temple, is the oldest temple in Putuo Mountain, and also the largest temple in Putuo Mountain. All major Buddha Shun activities are held here. The whole temple is built in a wide and flat area.

The pool water in front of the temple is accumulated by the mountain spring. The lotus pods in the pool are full of knots. In summer, the lotus fragrance is strong. It is worth mentioning that there is a stone pagoda beside the Puji temple, which is the oldest building of the Puji Temple (built in the Yuan Dynasty). Although it can not be viewed from a close distance because of the separation of courtyard walls, it is one of the three treasures of Putuo.

Traffic information: there are two special bus lines connecting most scenic spots in Putuo Mountain

Route 1: Puji Temple East (baibusha) - baibuge - zizhulin (Nanhai Guanyin open-air Buddha) - entering samadhi (Nantianmen) - steamboat Wharf - Haifang new village (Xishan new village zone 1) - Seafood Garden (Xishan new village zone 2) - Baotuo Hotel - Puji Temple West (Xishan Scenic Area entrance)

Route 2: Ferry Pier - entering into samadhi (Nantianmen) - zizhulin (Nanhai Guanyin open-air Buddha) - baibuge - Puji East (baibusha) - xianrenjing (Chaoyang cave) - Dacheng temple - Fayu Temple (qianbusha) - feisha'ao - Xianghui temple - fanyin Cave - Baoyue temple - Gufo Cave - cableway station

In addition to the two special tourist bus lines, there are also point-to-point tourist buses between the main scenic spots of Putuo Mountain, and special personnel dispatch vehicles with walkie talkies according to the passenger flow

How to get to Puji Temple

Putuo Mountain Tourism Line No. 1 to baibusha (east of Puji Temple); or No. 2 to baibusha (Puji Temple)

Opening hours: morning classes of Puji temple, opening hours of Puji Temple: 3:40-4:30; daily opening hours of Puji Temple: 6:00-21:00, in which the east gate and the inner main hall of Puji temple are closed at 18:00, and the west gate is open at 21:00. Visitors can browse the whole temple in the outer corridor
