The terrain of Panlong mountain Great Wall is very dangerous. It is known as "controlling the secluded swallow in the South and fierce desert in the north". Since ancient times, it has been a must for military strategists. There are 19 enemy towers on the the Great Wall with a total length of 5 kilometers, and the general building and the 24 eye building are the essence of the Great Wall. Jiangjun building is located at the commanding height of Panlong mountain. It is a square building with a width of 10.10 meters. There are four arrow windows in the north and south, three arrow windows in the East and three arrow windows in the West. There are four doors in the East, West, South and North. In the famous Great Wall war of resistance against Japan, the most fierce battle between the enemy and us is Jiangjun building. The 24 eye tower has 24 observation holes, which are rare treasures in the history of great wall architecture. The wall of this section of the Great Wall is also unique, with different styles of earth wall, back wall and brick wall. Qilang tomb, linggong temple, liuliyingbi Avenue, one-step three eye well, two-step three temples vividly illustrate the unique cultural landscape in Gubeikou scenic area.

Traffic instructions

Bus: take a long-distance bus from Dongzhimen and Xizhimen bus stations to Chengde, Luanping, Weichang and Fengning, and get off in front of Gubeikou tunnel; or take no.980 bus from Dongzhimen bus station to Miyun bus station, and then transfer to Zhongba at Gubeikou. The ticket price is about 25 yuan.

Train: l677 travel train, daily round trip, 7:36 a.m. from Beijing North Station, 15:03 p.m. from Gubeikou back to Beijing. About 3.5 hours, 15 yuan.

Self driving: from Beijing, take Siyuan bridge, Jingshun Road, Kuliushu Island, Miyun Road, Niulanshan Island, 101 National Road, Miyun City, Taishitun, and Gubeikou town. About 2 hours

Starting from Beijing, take Beijing Chengde expressway. After getting off the expressway in Miyun, go straight along Jingshun road to Gubeikou town. About an hour and a half.
