Hua Yanding

Huayanding is a temple, located in the middle of Mount Emei, on jiulinggang, 1914 meters above sea level. Surrounded by mountains, the most distinctive feature here is that it has a wide field of vision. You can see the mountain scenery of Jinding, XIXIANGCHI and other places from afar. On the side of the top of the mountain is a cliff. Even when the weather is bad, huayanding is also a perfect place to watch the sea of clouds. On a sunny day, you can see Emei City, known as "xiaojinding".

It is the largest bamboo shoot peak in the series of karst peak forest in the mountain. In this area of forest, there is a rare animal, the red panda, which is the second-class national key protection animal. Farmers call it "jiujielian", because it is brown red, with nine white rings on its tail, like a whip. The panda is lively and lovely. It often jumps around in the forest. In addition, there are groups of red bellied horned pheasants (commonly known as pheasants) foraging in the forest, and sometimes they will rush to the road, not surprised to see people.

Hua Yanding

Huayanding, an independent peak in Mount Emei, Sichuan, is 1914 meters above sea level. It is a towering peak. It is located in the middle of Mount Emei. Surrounded by mountains, it has a wide field of vision and can see the sea of clouds and sunrise. During the reign of Yongzheng in the Qing Dynasty, it was expanded into a temple at the top of the mountain. The temple was also called Huayan Temple. In the past, the statue of "Songzi Niang" was worshipped in the temple. Later, it was used to be a statue of Sakyamuni Buddha and jade Guanyin.

Historical evolution

Huayanding was called Yuhuang Pavilion in ancient times. In 1729 ad, the two monks of Tongrong and Huixian successively expanded into a temple, named huayanding, which was later destroyed and built.

During the reign of Qianlong and Jiaqing in the Qing Dynasty, woyun'an saw Chang wenzhenxiu, the successor of Zen master Jianwu, supervising huayandingyuan. Starting from Jiaxu in Jiaqing (1814 AD), he continued to build Linji genealogy under Jianwu, so that his disciples could go to Bashu, Jiangsu, Yungui and other places to study and visit. Finally, he completed 18 works in Daoguang Dingwei (1847 AD), including Yongqing temple, huayandingyuan, Rao temple in Rongxian There are 18 monasteries, including Jiasi temple, juehua temple in Longchang, Guanyin Pavilion in Rongchang and niuhuaxi ancient Buddhist temple. Some people once saw them in Guoxiao Temple of Yongqing temple in the Republic of China, but now they are hard to find.

According to Buddhism, there are two explanations for the word "Huayan" in Huayan top: one is that the temple is located in the place where thousands of people walk like flowers, so it is called "Huayan"; the other is that "Huayan" means "Huayan Sutra". Therefore, the Sutra is the most excellent classic in Buddhism, and the name of the Sutra is the name of the temple, which shows the solemn meaning of the Buddhist land.

Natural scenery

There are jiulongjing and Guihua cave near huayanding. It is said that when the temple was founded, because there was no water in the ground, the old monk mengshen instructed him to dig on the spot, and the water gushed out The scenery here is breathtaking. You can overlook the temples and peaks, and the sound can reach Yuxian temple and Jiulao cave.

On the top of Huayan mountain, you can see Jinding, Jiulao cave, Wannian temple and other mountain scenery. On a sunny day, you can also see the urban area of Emei, so it is called "little Jinding". Huayan Guanyun is one of the famous scenery of Emei Mountain.
