Wash inkstone pool, also known as "inkstone pool", "ink pool" and "goose pool", is located at No. 20, Yanchi street, Linyi City, Shandong Province. It is the former residence of Wang Xizhi, and is a key cultural relic protection unit in China. The Wang clan of Langya, represented by Wang Xizhi in Jin Dynasty, once "studied in linchi" and "made the water black out".

Linyi is an ancient historical and cultural city. It is the hometown of Wang Xizhi, the "great calligrapher". It is said that Wang Xizhi often went to the pool to wash the inkstones after practicing calligraphy hard in his childhood. After a long time, the water in the pool turned black. So people called it "xiyanchi", and ancient scholars also called it "inkpool".

Wang Mian, a poet and painter of the Yuan Dynasty, once wrote a poem: "my family washes the inkstone and the trees by the pool, and the flowers bloom with light ink marks. Don't let people praise the color, but let the pure Qi fill the universe. "

Wang Xizhi

Wang Xizhi, whose name is Yishao, was also called "Wang Youjun" because he was a general of the right army. Born in Linyi, Langya in 303 A.D., he has been fond of calligraphy since he was a child. He is good at Zhen, Cao, Li and Zhuan, especially in calligraphy. Wang Xizhi and his son Wang Xianzhi are called "two kings" in the history of Chinese calligraphy. Wang Xizhi not only has a biography in Jin Shu, but also wrote a monograph by Lao Taizong himself. The main reason is that his calligraphy is so wonderful that he was "appreciated" by Tang Taizong. Emperor Taizong praised him for his "thorough investigation of the past and the present, study of the essence of seal script, perfection, but Wang Yi few." Emperor Taizong of Tang Dynasty was a calligraphy loving emperor. He was really "obsessed" with Wang Xizhi's ink all his life. Until he died, he left his last words. He buried the Orchid Pavilion preface, the first running script in ancient and modern times, in Zhaoling, leaving a controversial case.
