Site of the ancient city conference

To the northeast of Longshi is the ancient city, a place with beautiful scenery. The former site of the ancient city conference is located on the side of the ancient city street. It used to be Liankui Academy.

On October 3, 1927, Mao Zedong led the Chinese workers' and peasants' revolutionary army from Sanwan to the ancient city, where he presided over the enlarged meeting of the front Committee. The meeting summed up the experience and lessons of the Autumn Harvest Uprising in Hunan and Jiangxi, determined the policy of uniting and transforming yuan Wencai and Wang Zuo's two local armed forces, and made a strategic decision to establish a revolutionary base in the middle of the Luoxiao mountains, which is known as the "ancient city meeting" in history.
