Information science branch of Wuhan University Library

Wuhan University Library Information Science Branch is located in the south of Luojia mountain, the center of information science department. Its predecessor is the library of Wuhan University of Surveying and mapping, which was founded in September 1956 and completed in January 1962 with a building area of 6351 square meters. The information science branch library is one of the units with relatively complete collection of Surveying and mapping scientific literature in China. It mainly collects Chinese and foreign books, periodicals, conference papers, master's and doctoral dissertations, technical standards and specifications of geodesy, engineering surveying, photogrammetry and remote sensing, cartography, geographic information engineering, surveying instruments and manufacturing, computer science, radio electronics, telecommunication technology, printing technology, environmental science and other disciplines, All 12 kinds of journals in the core journals of Surveying and mapping in the survey of foreign core journals of science and technology are collected; the earliest German Journal of surveying published in the world has been collected completely since its first issue in 1873. By the end of 2006, the information science branch library had about 490000 Chinese and foreign books, more than 5000 periodicals, topographic maps of various scales, remote sensing images and photos, and more than 100000 copies.
