Yang Xiaofang

Yang's Xiaofang, also known as "Yang Xiaozi Temple", is located in the north of the old street of Gangkou Tianzhuang village, Fenghuang Town, Zhangjiagang City, Jiangsu Province. Built in the 10th year of Jiaqing reign of the Qing Dynasty (recorded in Chang Zhao He Zhi), the Yang family's Xiaofang was once a place where the Yang family offered sacrifices to their ancestors.

Hard mountain style building, west facing east, five rooms and two hatchback rooms. The first entrance hall is 17.9 meters wide, 6.4 meters deep, 6.22 meters high and 6 columns. The second entrance hall is 15.6m wide, 7.4M deep, 5.5m high and 7 columns. Inside the wall are three stone carvings of "honor the filial piety of Yang Jun's family", three stone carvings of "Yang's reading field records" and one stone carvings of "Bu Zheng Si Zhi tie". There is a 9-meter-long corridor between the two entrances, which integrates the front and back entrances. The first roof has three overlapping brackets, which is magnificent.

In 1998, Yang's Xiaofang was listed as a cultural relic protection unit in Zhangjiagang City, and in December 2011, it was listed as a cultural relic protection unit in Jiangsu Province.

Yang's Xiaofang was built by the Qing government in recognition of his filial son Yang Dai. Yang Dai (1737-1803) was born in Fenghuang Town, Changshu County, Jiangsu Province in the second year of Qianlong reign of the Qing Dynasty. He was a filial son who was famous all over the world at that time. During the reign of Emperor Qianlong, Yang Dai (1737-1803), a scholar, further developed Tianzhuang, established Yishuo and Yizhuang, built bridges inside and outside the town, and paved four and a half streets with big stone strips. So far, it has been more than 200 years, and it still keeps the original format.
