Da'anxi Gorge

Daanxi, the junction of Dongshi and zhuolan in Taichung County, has a total length of 96 kilometers and a drainage area of 758 square kilometers. The gorge is like a giant dragon. It is more than 300 meters long and more than 10 meters deep. The rapid flow of water cuts the geology in half. The two banks of the gorge are exposed like rock formations. It is really a rare magnificent scene in Taiwan.

Development history

Due to the compression of the 921 earthquake and the scour of typhoon and rainstorm, a grand canyon with a depth of more than 10 meters and a total length of about 300 meters was cut from Dabajian in the snow mountain range, presenting a magnificent grand canyon landscape.

However, compared with the general Canyon geology, the da'anxi Grand Canyon is mainly composed of sandstone and mudstone. The soil is soft and looks like rock from a distance, but the texture is very fragile. The landscape of the grand Anxi gorge is quite rich. In addition to the gorge landscape, there are also such geographical landscapes as rock walls, waterfalls, sandbanks, streams, etc. with amazing momentum and broad vision, it is not inferior to the Grand Canyon of the United States. The uncanny workmanship of nature is amazing.
