Shenshan national scenic spot

Shenshan national scenic spot is planned by the Tourism Bureau of the Ministry of communications of the executive yuan of Taiwan. It is a combination of Shitou mountain scenic spot, Lishan Mountain scenic spot and Bagua mountain scenic spot, with a total area of more than 70000 hectares. It covers five counties including Hsinchu, Miaoli, Taichung, Changhua and Nantou. Shenshan national scenic area has magnificent mountains, lakes and other high-value tourism and recreation resources, as well as rich animal and plant, hydrological, topographic, geological and other ecological resources. In terms of humanities, there are different local cultural assets such as the historical culture, living relics, historic sites and buildings of Hakka, Aboriginal, Minnan and other ethnic groups. There are also natural industrial scenic spots such as tea, sightseeing orchard, temperate fruits and high cold vegetables nearby.

Historical process

On March 16, 2001, the Management Office of Shenshan national scenic area was established.

Since December 25, 1999, Lishan scenic spot has been officially incorporated into Taichung (directly under the central government). In order to arouse people's memory of Lishan, from December 99 to January 100, the Shenshan Management Office has successively held 8 light viewing activities in front of Lishan Hotel, including Christmas news, new year's Eve party, welcome to dawn and concert.

Since its establishment in 1990, Shenshan national scenic spot has seen an increase in the number of tourists from 2.66 million in 1990 to 9.36 million in 1999, with a growth rate of 355% in 10 years, a tourism output value of 65 billion yuan, and the construction of many famous scenic spots, including Nanzhuang tourist center, penglaixi ecological park, Emei Lake walk around the lake, Shenxian Valley Recreation Area, xiangtian lake, Lishan hotel renovation and improvement, Lishan four seasons tour Garden area, Guguan Hot Spring Area, Bagua mountain scenic area, Baiguo Mountain Recreation Area, Diaobao theme park and Bagua mountain ecological tourist center are improved.

A total of 39 scenic spots have been built, and many popular marketing promotion activities have been held, such as Yingyang Bagua mountain bike carnival, Taiwan Water Running Festival, 2010 Winter Love Lishan series activities - Lixiang 100, Guguan Tangxiang, Nanzhuang landscape Festival series activities, and new summer Taike Nanzhuang concert, with a total of 142 events, which have become the first choice for domestic tourism.

Shitoushan scenic spot

The scope of shitoushan scenic spot includes Emei Township, Beipu Township and Zhudong Township in Hsinchu County, and Nanzhuang Township and Sanwan Township in Miaoli County. Shitou mountain is located at the junction of Miaoli County and Hsinchu County, with an altitude of 496 meters. Looking out from a distance at the rolling mountains, it looks like a lion standing on the ground with its head held high. The trees and bamboo forests on the mountain are high and low, covering the mountains, just like the curls on the body of a lion. There are many natural caves in the mountains. During the reign of Emperor Guangxu, monks and Taoists came here one after another to build temples by using caves. Now, there are 18 temples on the mountain, big and small, with morning bell and evening drum. It has become a place of pilgrimage. Looking from the south of Miaoli Town, but walking into the mountain, there is a big rock near the mountain gate, about 13 meters high, like a sitting lion squatting there, holding his head high, two claws in front, guarding the mountain pass, so it is called "shitouyan". From "shitouyan" to the mountain, there are "raoyi yuan" (nunnery), Chaosheng pagoda, Guanyin waterfall, Qingjing bridge, etc. all the way back to Ziyang gate, the big mountain gate of shitouzhu temple. After ziyangmen, there are three famous temples adjacent to each other: Futian temple, Kaishan temple and Quanhua hall. The Futian palace was built in 1915. The temple is dedicated to Tibetan Bodhisattvas and the gods in charge of hell. On the wall, there is a picture of "eighteen floors of hell", which is gloomy and terrifying. In the main hall of Kaishan temple, there is a golden three treasures Buddha about 3 meters high. In the middle of the hall, there is a Sakyamuni Buddha. It is 1 meter high and carved in pure jade. It is said that it was transported from Rangoon, Myanmar in the 1920s. There is a complete set of Japanese engraved Tripitaka in the temple, which is a very precious cultural relic. Quanhua hall is the largest temple here. It is built on the mountain. The main hall is located in the mountainside and has three floors. The most prominent is the magnificent "Yuqing Palace", in which the hall is dedicated to Guan Gong; the left is Dacheng hall, dedicated to Confucius; the right is Leiyin hall, dedicated to Guanyin Bodhisattva. It is said that there are three temples under the jurisdiction of Quanhua hall. Yuqing palace symbolizes heaven, Kaishan Temple symbolizes the Buddha Kingdom, and Futian palace symbolizes hell. It is a Trinity and constitutes the main tourist area of Shitou mountain.

Lishan scenic spot

Lishan scenic area includes Lishan, Guguan and Siyuan pass. Starting from the junction of tai8 line and tai21 line in the west, at the junction of Zhongheng highway and Lishan, you can reach Ilan in the north, Hualian in the East, Taichung in the west, and Wushe and Nantou in the South via Dayuling.. Bagua mountain scenic spot

Bagua mountain scenic spot is located on the North Bank of Zhuoshui River in the south, the South Bank of Dadu River in the north, Taichung basin in the East and Changhua plain in the West. Located in the Bagua mountain scenic area, the Buddha statue is divided into eight layers with different display themes.

Many birds can be seen in Bagua mountain, such as the great crested eagle, the Green Embroidered eye, the Pulsatilla, the embroidered eye thrush, the pink parrot beak, the bamboo chicken and so on. Tens of thousands of grey faced Eagles cross the country in March and April every year. the lantern festival

The Lantern Festival of Wende palace lasts for three days and two nights every year.
