Helan Mountain National hunting ground is located in beixiazigou of Helan Mountain, 43 km away from Wuba highway in Alxa Left Banner of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, 30 km away from BAYANHOT. Helan Mountain National hunting ground is in the grazing forbidden area outside Helan Mountain Nature Reserve. Approved by the state, it was built in August 2003, covering an area of 5800 hectares.

Living quarters

Closing the mountain and forbidding grazing

In order to protect Helan Mountain, 150000 sheep and 960 herdsmen from Alashan Left Banner of Inner Mongolia have moved out of Helan Mountain where they live and graze for generations since 1999. After several years of closing the mountain and forbidding grazing, the ecological environment of Helan Mountain has changed significantly. At one time, goats went down the mountain and rock sheep flooded.

Jianhelan Mountain National hunting ground

In order to better balance the ecology of Helan Mountain, the Administration Bureau of Inner Mongolia Helan Mountain National Nature Reserve put forward the feasibility report of building Helan Mountain National hunting ground in early 2002 and submitted it to the Forestry Department of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region for approval. On September 27, 2002, the Forestry Department of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region approved the establishment of Helanshan national hunting ground in Inner Mongolia by (2002) No. 206 document, which was reported to the Ministry of forestry for the record. Since then, the Administration Bureau of Inner Mongolia Helanshan National Nature Reserve has cooperated with Jiuhan Tiancheng tourism development company through investment promotion. After two years of preparation and investment of more than 2 million yuan, it has successively built various unique style facilities such as hunting villa with three-story wooden structure villa as the main body. The newly built hunting ground of Helan Mountain has convenient transportation and is a grazing forbidden area of Helan Mountain. It is located in the north foot of Helan Mountain, 34 kilometers away from BAYANHOT Wuba highway in azuo banner, covering an area of nearly 70 square kilometers. It is the only national hunting ground of Helan Mountain in Northwest China.
