Xiaonong base camp is located 13 kilometers away from yubengshang village, Deqin County (near the main peak of Meili Snow Mountain). It was built by the Sino Japanese joint mountaineering team in 1991. It is a base camp of kagebo peak on the snowy mountain of dengmeili. It is a necessary place to visit Yubeng Village. The altitude is 3600 meters, and there is a cattle fence as a resting place. If you want to go to the ice lake with an altitude of 3800 meters, you can start from the base camp of Xiaonong University. The snow melted and left Kawagebo peak. Some people put horses in Xiaonong base camp. It's a place with beautiful scenery.

Built history

In the summer of August 1987, a strange team arrived at the foot of the snow mountain in an off-road vehicle carrying big and small bags. The local villagers didn't know who they were or what they were doing. They are the Sino Japanese joint mountaineering team. The simple Tibetan villagers invited them to drink Qingke wine, make ghee tea, and cut large pieces of pork fat by the fire pond to entertain guests from afar. Just like the curiosity of the villagers, the team also marveled at the beautiful snow mountain and the ancient lifestyle of the villagers. They often left the camp to visit the village, where there were always warm villagers and delicious food waiting for them. They told the villagers that they had come to climb Meili Snow Mountain. The villagers don't know where the Meili Snow Mountain is, let alone, there is another sport in the world called mountaineering.

With the progress of the mountaineering team, the villagers finally learned that this group of outsiders is not only a scientific expedition, but also to climb to the top of the mountain and climb to the top of the head of their ancestor worship God, grandfather kawagbo. The good villagers are angry. They express their anger and dissatisfaction in all ways they can.

In 1991, mountaineering again began with strong opposition from the local Tibetans. Four camps were destroyed by an avalanche at one time, and 17 Chinese and Japanese mountaineers were annihilated. This is the famous 91 mountain disaster in mountaineering. Since then, Kawagebo has been known to the world. From then on, Kawagebo has been displayed in front of the world with its profound humanistic connotation and colorful scenery. Xiaonong base camp is the base camp of that mountaineering activity.
