Jiulongsong is located in wudaoying Township, 15 kilometers northwest of Fengning County. According to experts' research, this tree was planted in the middle of the Northern Song Dynasty. After six dynasties, it has a history of more than 980 years. Jiulong pine is 9.1 meters high and 2.8 meters in girth, with branches up to 13 meters long. From the outside, it has nine thick branches, which spiral and interweave together. The branches of the nine branches are like a dragon head, the tree body is curved like a dragon body, the bark is massive, like a dragon scale, and the nine branches are like a dragon, flying up, so the local people call it Jiulong pine. So, why does it have the reputation of the best pine in the world? Because it has a few strange, in the world can also be called unique, unique.

The first wonder

If viewed from a distance, the tree looks like a big bonsai. When viewed from different angles, its appearance is quite different. For example, from the north to the south, the outline and growth trend of the tree are exactly the same as those of the Fuma mountain. What's more strange is that the tree has distinct layers, which are divided into upper and lower four layers, and the corresponding Fuma mountain is also divided into upper and lower four layers Echoing with the tree from afar, it becomes interesting.

Second wonder

The growth of this branch is strange. After thousands of years, the tree does not grow high, but extends around. Moreover, all its branches are circling, bending and turning. Its growth has the following four characteristics:

First of all, trees are not high and cover a large area. The tree is more than 9 meters high, the trunk is 3.5 meters high, surrounded by three people, covering an area of 525 square meters, covering an area of 8 points. Secondly, the tree trunk is curved and has the image of a dragon. Moreover, some branches seem to have the consciousness of artificial carving. In addition, the growth of tree trunks is divided and combined, and the division and combination are consistent.

Third wonder

After thousands of years, this pine still grows outwards every year and produces pinecones every year. Pine nuts are white and plump when they are immature, and there is only one layer of skin inside when they are mature. After years of experiments by the Forestry Department of Hebei Province, its pine seeds, even using the most advanced technology and means, can not produce the second generation of pines and cypresses, which can be called the unique in the world.

Fourth wonder

According to the expert's determination, there is a strong mixed atmosphere around the tree. If you close your eyes, you can feel something. If you close your ears to the trunk, you can hear an abnormal echo. Moreover, this pine stands alone, and when a breeze passes by, you can also hear the waves of pines.

Mystery

It is also worth mentioning that this tree has no crown, but it can still grow for nearly 1000 years. So far, no exact reason can be found to explain it.

With these four wonders, Jiulong pine is well deserved to be known as the best one in the world. Even the pine of Huangshan and the cypress of kongfu are no better. Therefore, in the first chapter of Hebei Forestry annals of China, this magical Jiulong pine has the title of "king of forest in northern China".

How did this tree come from? According to folklore, a crane came from Baiyun Gorge (Baiyun ancient cave) 45 kilometers south of Fengning. When it passed by, it was blown to the ground with a pine nut in its mouth. Therefore, a couplet describes it as follows:

The first couplet is: the crane carrying God seed takes root in the ground and sees the clouds and rain of the Six Dynasties.

The second couplet is: the immortal plants the strange tree to cover the sky and bring happiness to a generation.

There is a poem that praises the Jiulong pine: "the green clouds are ten feet high, the old trees are ten feet high, and the strange pines are thousands of years old. It's best to wait until the snow stops." Because in the middle of winter, after a heavy snow, the vigorous Jiulong pine slope is covered with white snow, and the nine branches dance like nine jade dragons, which is even more magical.

The discoverer of Jiulong pine is said to be Emperor Kangxi of Qing Dynasty. According to legend, when Kangxi went out on a tour outside the Great Wall to hunt for Mulan paddock, he went there happily when he heard that there was a strange pine in Baoqiu water area outside Gubeikou. After that, I was amazed to see the growth of this tree. I personally inscribed the word "Jiulong pine" and asked the local craftsmen to engrave a plaque on the temple, leaving 500 imperial guards to protect the pine. After generations of breeding and intermarriage with the local people, the 500 royal guards gradually settled down and formed five neighboring villages around Jiulong pine. The three villages below are toudaoying, erdaoying and sandaoying, while the two villages above are sidaoying and wudaoying. I don't know when the local people spread such a few sayings: "when you arrive at Fengning City, you must go to sidaoying; if you look at the Jiulong pine, you will succeed in everything; if you look at the beautiful scenery, you will not regret it; if you don't look, you will find it wonderful; if you leave a shadow under the tree, you will be able to live ninety-nine years; if you feel the Jiulong pine, you will live younger.".
