Tiantai Mountain Cave

Tiantai Mountain karst cave is located in LAOYINGYAN, 3 km south of Biba Road, Linfeng Township, Weixin County, Zhaotong City, Yunnan Province, 32 km away from the county seat. Formed 230-280 million years ago, the cave has the characteristics of grand, beautiful, wide and abundant. There are four layers in the cave, each layer is 20-50 meters high. The caves are connected with each other and each has its own hall, among which three layers can be developed and utilized. The area of the second floor hole detected is 61095.5 square meters and the length is 2138.2 meters. The portal is located on the hillside, with an elevation of 1100 meters. The elevation in the cave is 1188.94 meters, and the relative elevation difference is about 89 meters. Among them, the main tunnel is 1264.1m long, 35m wide and 25m high; the branch tunnel is 874.1m deep, 25m wide and 18-25m high. There are more than 10 halls, the large one is about 100 meters wide, and the small one is about 20-30 meters wide.

Introduction to scenic spots

There are many types of secondary calcium carbonate deposits in the cave, with gorgeous colors and different shapes. They are yellow, light red, white or colorless, transparent, and abound in stalagmites, pillars, and stalagmites, most of which are standing, side hanging, and hanging.

Tiantai Mountain Cave is known as "the first cave in Southwest China". Bulgarian experts believe that the cave has a long history and many deposits, which is rare and has high tourism development value. It is characterized by holes, water, forest and mountains. There are canyons in the mountains and water in the valleys, varying from high to low, from wide to narrow. The stone waterfall splashes in the air with great momentum. A stone pillar stands upright, with a waist circumference of 13.5 meters. The inverted cone-shaped stalagmites are suspended high in the air. The carved beams and painted buildings of stalagmites and stone columns are erected. The curved stalagmites climb up the wall and stack crystals. The sweet spring dripping "Dida" is refreshing. The light red tufted and feathery stone pillars are all over the top of the cave, such as strings of ripe millet, and the grayish yellow travertine accumulation at the bottom of the cave, such as inverted golden bell, drooping lotus and Huagai.

Two huge stone pillars with a height of 25 meters and a diameter of 1.5 meters are connected up and down, just like a couple who will never separate. The top, wall and bottom of the cave are entangled with pinnate, branched and columnar stalactites, such as intertwined tropical rain forest. The upper tip and the lower circular pillar, like a missile, are flying to the vast universe. A hall of a few thick stone column dislocation, seemingly dangerous, but in fact, as peaceful as Mount Tai.

When you travel to the south gate at the back of the second floor cave, you can see that there are many ice peaks, stone flowers in full bloom and jade waterfalls in the depressed hall. It's like a fairyland in heaven, and you can't forget to return. On the second floor, Baoling temple is surrounded by cigarettes. Entering the cave from Baoling temple, it is still spacious and magnificent. In the lower part of the second floor, the cave is winding and dangerous, and few people enter. On the top of the cave, there are mountains and pines. Muyubao (station master's note: local place name) still has a secluded cave, Longquan, and a round sunken pit with towering ancient trees.
