There are 55 families, 101 and 194 species of plants in the reserve, including about 90 species of trees, 50 species of shrubs and 30 species of vines. Among them, there are more than 20 hectares of forest dominated by Phoebe bournei. Although the area is not large, it is still a rare and concentrated precious tree species forest in Fujian Province. The largest "king of Phoebe bournei" is 27 meters high and 76 cm long. The main forest layer with obvious forest structure mainly includes rice brown, Cyclobalanopsis glauca, qinggoukao, Hongshang, paohuabai, Schima superba, etc. the soil in the sub forest layer should have purple ridge, hard shell and wolf Huanxi, Shudou, huangalnus cremastogyne, etc.; the layer of banished wood includes huangruimu, Rongnan, shanfan, mousei, duzhushan, etc.; the herb layer mainly includes zijinniu, Gouji, Shanjiang, renshangjuan, etc.; the lianas include longxuteng, guami, yangjiaoteng, etc. The floristic division is Qu 1e14. The reserve can be used as the provenance area and in situ protection point of Phoebe bournei.

Phoebe Lauraceae

Phoebe bournei belongs to Lauraceae, which is a precious tree species in the world. The unique fragrance does not fade, the tough quality is immortal, has "in the wood gold" the name. Phoebe is 20-30 meters high and 1.5 meters in diameter. Its trunk is straight and its wood is yellow with fragrant smell. Its texture is beautiful and delicate. It is not easy to deform and crack. It is a special material for making high-grade furniture, architecture, shipbuilding and national defense construction. The forest of Phoebe bournei in the nature reserve is dominated by young and middle-aged forest, which has important scientific research and economic value for the future research and provenance of Phoebe bournei.

Management

The reserve was established with the approval of Fujian Provincial People's Government in March 1983.
