Dong'an Dongqiao is located in Fenghu street, Ruian, Zhejiang Province. It was first built in the Song Dynasty and rebuilt in the early Ming Dynasty. It was repaired in the fifth year of Qianlong (1740) of the Qing Dynasty and is now well preserved. It is a single hole granite arch bridge with a span of 19.21 meters, a clear span of 4.53 meters and a width of 21.58 meters. It is built in parallel in longitudinal sections. Fenghu Pavilion and Guangji temple are built on the bridge deck. The pavilion is three in width and one in depth; the temple is two in width and the main hall is five in width. A stage was built before the Ming Dynasty, all of which are wooden buildings in the late Qing Dynasty.

Historical allusions

It is said that a long time ago, there were many fires in Ruian City, and the people were constantly complaining. If there was an east wind, the fire would be more prosperous and difficult to calm down. Mr. Feng Shui said: "this is the cave bridge outside the east gate. When the sun rises from the East in the morning, the sun shines directly on the cave bridge to form the focus and become the source of the fire. In addition, the east wind blows through the round cave bridge, just like the God uses a fire stick to blow air into the stove. The fire will burn more and more fiercely. To put out the fire, the cave bridge must be blocked." So the common people thought of a countermeasure. In the middle of the wide Tanghe River outside the east gate, they piled piles to pick up soil and built a Gongrui mountain. Then they built a yuejing temple on the mountain, which could control water and fire. The temple was surrounded by green trees to block the east wind. From then on, the fire in the city stopped. In this way, the people put a mysterious veil on Dongqiao and gongruishan, and upgraded them to the beautiful scenery of Ruicheng.

Dong'an Dong bridge is located at the starting point of the west end of the river around Ruian ancient city to Wenruitang River. It is 300 meters east of Dongmen suspension bridge. Dong'andong bridge is a single hole stone arch bridge, which spans Fenghu River in the north-south direction and becomes an important traffic road. It was built in the Song Dynasty and rebuilt in the Ming Dynasty. What we see now is that it was rebuilt in 1740. The span of the bridge is four meters, the length of the bridge deck is six meters five, and the width of the bridge deck is five meters eight. The craftsmen made full use of the space of the bridge deck to build a Fenghu Pavilion for pedestrians to rest. In the west, there is a Guangji temple, which has two entrances in the front and back, two corridors in the left and right, a stage in the middle, and a capacity of 500 audience. This kind of building Pavilion, platform and temple on the arch bridge is the unique feature of dongandong bridge, which is different from other arch bridges in southern Zhejiang. It forms the style of architectural complex in the late Qing Dynasty and reflects the exquisite Chinese ancient architecture.

Tourism culture

Nowadays, fenghuting is a place where pedestrians often go back and forth, and dozens of people often get together to chat and enjoy themselves freely. The temple also has a canteen for daily necessities and food, which is convenient for tourists. The stage invites folk troupes to perform for three to five days each time in March and September. People come to see the opera in an endless stream. Several cultural and art festivals held in Rui'an City take this place as the main venue of the drum CI special venue, and the performance effect is ideal. On the first and fifteenth day of the lunar new year, pilgrims from all directions come to order wax and burn incense to pray for peace and family happiness. At ordinary times, the most people who go to Dongqiao for leisure and entertainment are the elderly. It seems that this place has become a palace for the elderly. Huang Zongying, a famous Swiss film actor and writer, was keen to find beauty when he returned to his hometown to create reportage. He sat on the back seat at the end of the bridge and had a heart to heart talk with several white haired young men. He was photographed by photographer Liu Xianyou and became a classic work of art photography.

Due to the profound cultural heritage of Dongqiao, an unwritten rule has been gradually derived. All boats, including the supreme Dragon Boat Festival, are not allowed to shout or beat gongs and drums when passing through Dongqiao, otherwise Dongqiao will "get angry" and punish them. This is superstition of course, but in fact, the cave is long and the river is narrow, and the echo effect is excellent. If the sound is too loud, it is easy to damage the eardrum, and the weak people will also affect the heart. At the same time, the cave is dark and gloomy, and the sound is too loud, which makes people feel scared. Therefore, when ships pass through the cave, they can only be quiet, and no one dares to make a loud noise.

Time flies, history is long, Dongqiao records the rise and fall of the times, writing the brilliance of the context. The long river of years has never faded the ancient cave bridge, but added brilliance to it.
