Beixiangtang Temple

Beixiangtang temple is located on the west side of Gushan in Hecun Town, built on the stone wall of the hillside. It was founded in the Northern Wei Dynasty and built in the Northern Qi Dynasty (550-577 AD). After the Northern Qi Dynasty, it was excavated in Sui, Tang, song, yuan and Ming Dynasties. There are 9 grottoes and 725 statues of Buddha in different sizes.

brief introduction

The grottoes are divided into three groups: the south, the middle and the north. Each group has a large grotto represented by the Northern Qi Dynasty. Fan Wenlan, a Chinese historian, wrote in the general history of China that "the Great Buddha cave in beixiangtang Grottoes can be compared with the Binyang cave in Longmen Grottoes, the fifth cave in Gongxian grottoes and the major caves in Yungang Grottoes.".

In addition, Nanxiangtang temple, which is located on the west side of fukouxing (now xizhifang Village), is also called "Nanxiangtang Temple"
