Feitian Plaza

Feitian square is located in the center turntable of Longwan New District Street in Huludao City, which is reconstructed from the original center turntable square.

The Plaza makes full use of the unique advantages of Huludao City as the hometown of Yang Liwei, the first person in China's aerospace industry, and promotes the manned Aerospace spirit of "being able to endure hardships, fight, tackle key problems and dedicate". It is one of the landmark buildings in Huludao City.

Brief introduction of Feitian square

The square is composed of five parts: the first person of China's space industry (Yang Liwei's realistic statue), "flying dream" (Abstract main Memorial), "flying dream" (relief wall of human space history), "nine sky pillars" (space events and science popularization) and "Daoyun Tianji" (fourteen steps, symbolizing the fourteenth circle and infinite future of the first space flight). The height of the portrait of the astronaut is 5.5 meters (including 2 meters of the foundation); the height of the abstract main memorial is 30 meters; the height of the relief wall is 2 meters; and the height of the nine pillars is 5 meters.

The project started in April 2004 and became a new tourist attraction in Huludao City after completion. And effectively improve the image of the city, enhance the quality of the city.

Inscription on Feitian square

On October 15, 2003, China's Shenzhou-5 manned spacecraft was successfully launched. After 21 hours in space and 14 circles around the earth, the spacecraft returned to the ground safely. This feat not only fulfilled the Chinese people's dream of flying into space for thousands of years, but also made China the third country after the former Soviet Union and the United States for human beings to enter space. It attracts the world's attention and makes China prosperous.

Yang Liwei, known as "the first person in China's space flight", was born in Suizhong County of the city at the age of 38. This time, he was named "Space Hero" by the Central Military Commission, and his hometown felt honored.

In order to carry forward the spirit of "manned space flight", highlight the heroic achievements, inspire patriotism and unite the ambition of serving the country, the Municipal People's Congress decided to build "Feitian square". The square is composed of Yang Liwei's realistic whole body sculpture, abstract "Fei" shape main body, granite relief, nine pillars and 14 steps. The purpose is to keep the glorious moment as a permanent memorial and make the flying feat a torch to climb the peak forever. We hope that the Chinese people and Bincheng's sons and grandsons will share the great ambition of flying to the sky and the heroic feats to bring about the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, the glorious inheritance of human civilization and the prosperity of the hero's hometown.
