Yongquan Township
Yongquan township is an administrative village under the jurisdiction of Yilan County. The village is located in the northeast of the county, adjacent to Huanan County across the songmu River in the southeast. The whole village is located in the hilly area, with a small Shengli reservoir in the north, covering an area of 241 square kilometers.
The township government is 30 kilometers away from the county seat. Yongquan township is named for its mountainous area with many springs. It originally belonged to hongkeli District of Yilan County. In the late period of the Japanese occupation of Northeast China, it was under the jurisdiction of Duola village. After the victory of the Anti Japanese war in 1945, it was put under the jurisdiction of Yidong County in early 1947. In June 1948, Yidong county was abolished and transferred back to Yilan County, belonging to the second district. In March 1956, Yongquan township was set up instead of zoned township. In October 1958, he joined hongkeli people's commune. In 1961, Yongquan commune was set up from hongkeli commune. In April 1984, the government and society were separated and changed into Yongquan township. the total area of the township is 241 square kilometers, including 173000 mu of arable land, mainly corn, soybean, flax and sugar beet. It is one of the commodity grain bases and sugar beet bases in the county. In 1990, 2405 cattle were raised in the township, and animal husbandry production ranked second in the county. Township run industries include wood spinning mill, quarry, comprehensive plant, etc. The township has jurisdiction over 19 villages, including Yongquan, Congjia, Shuangxing, beishuangxing, Mingxing, Mashan, Xinhong, Dongfeng, Yangshu, Beizhai, Yongsheng, Dongfanghong, Xixing, Xi'an, Sixin, Xianjin, Jixiang, Xinglong and Dongbei. At the end of 1992, the total population of the township was 14600, of which Manchu and other ethnic minorities accounted for about 4%. The township government is located in Yongquan village.
