Lingjiang town is located in the southwest of Cangxi County, where national highway 212, Cangxi Jiange highway, Cangxi Bazhong highway, Cangxi Wangcang highway, Lanzhou Chongqing Railway (under construction) and Jialing River meet. It is the seat of Cangxi County Government and the political, economic, cultural and traffic center of the county. It has 65 villages (communities) under its jurisdiction, with a total population of 135000 (2017). It is the largest town with the largest population in Guangyuan City, the third largest city (town) in the city, and also the first batch of "national key towns". The Lanzhou Chongqing railway under construction will pass through the town.
