Huanglong Island

Huanglong has two big and small islands, which are only 500 meters apart from each other. Dahuanglong island is 12.6km southeast of Caiyuan Town, 4.5km away from the shore of sijiaoshan island. It was named as Shenshui mountain, Yuanbao mountain, Shidao mountain and Huanglong Mountain in ancient times. Dahuanglong island is the resident of Huanglong township government in Shengsi county. It is named for its majestic mountains, yellow soil and yellow dragon like sea in the distance. The island is located in the southeast of Sijiao mountain, 4.5km away from the shore. There are 13 mountains, mainly DAAO Gangding, Taiping Gangding, Shiwu Gangding, Maoding mountain and so on. Rhubarb Dragon Island is shaped like Wutong leaves, 3.88 kilometers east-west, 1.5 km north and south, and coastal twists and turns. Wan Ao ring cloth, east mouth head, Nankang, DAAO, Bei AO and Zhi Ao can all be used for fishing boats. There is a beach along the coast of Da'ao, and the rest are steep. The total length of the coastline is 21.14 kilometers, and the highest point is 223.5 meters above sea level. There are many naked rocks on the island, the rock and soil are clear yellow, and the mountain trend is like two yellow dragons and floating sea rocks, so the island gets its name. The surrounding sea area is rich in fish and shrimp, and the "Huanglong shrimp" is known as famous brand seafood.

Development history

Since 1875, the northern port was under the jurisdiction of Chongming County, Taicang Prefecture, Jiangsu Province, and the southern port was under the jurisdiction of Dinghai department, Zhejiang Province. In 1934, Huanglong township was set up in Nangang, Zhejiang Province; Wulong township was set up in Beigang, Jiangsu Province. After 1951, the South and North ports were built together as Huanglong Township, and the township government was located in Nangang village. The development of the island was estimated to have been settled before the 16th century, and was abandoned by the sea ban in the early Qing Dynasty. Most of the ancestors of the present residents moved in from Ningbo, Zhenhai, Zhapu and other places after the restoration of Kangxi (1662-1722). It has a population of about 11000 and is distributed in 6 villages, mainly engaged in net work.

The island is like an open Wutong piece, with an area of 5.12 square kilometers. The main Ao Bay has two ports in the north and the south. The ridge is connected to the highest mountains. The highest point is the stone house roof in the middle, with an altitude of 223.5 meters, occupying second peaks in the Shengsi archipelago.

Travel

Dahuanglong island is famous overseas for its steep mountains and steep banks. The stone is called yuanbaoshi, which is divided into large and small pieces. It is attached to the Chonggang cliff of Yuanbaoshan. It looks like two ingots of gold and silver. Dayuan gem weighs about 100 tons and is 6 meters high, while Xiaoyuan gem weighs about 5 tons and is 4 meters long. Standing on the stone, people sway and push it. It is known as the largest stone in the East China Sea. It is thought that it was left by "Nuwa mending the sky". Another "Kong Ming hat top" stone, also known as the Grand View of stone. There are several cliff inscriptions on the island. The western wall of the gem of Dayuan is engraved with the four characters "cloud dragon in the East China Sea", which was written by Zhang Chuanlong during his tour of the sea in 1908. The inscription "chaohaifengqing" is inscribed on the stone cliff near the top of daaogangding, which was written by Chen MENGDOU when he was in charge of flood control in 1608, the 36th year of Wanli in the Ming Dynasty. Beside it are the remains of house base and stove base, which are suspected to be the ancient dwellings of the Ming Dynasty. In the northeast of shi'ao, there are "southeast half wall" stone carvings. In addition, the precipitous and beautiful liurenkeng steep valley, the interesting wuguishi reef and the spectacular changshanzui torrent are all famous scenic spots in Huanglong.

Xiaohuanglong island covers an area of 0.89 square kilometers, located in the west of dahuanglong island. The peak rocks on the island are stacked like a dragon. When the weather is clear in summer, it seems that there is smoke curling, so it is called "Huanglong spitting smoke". Tourists stream in all seasons of the year.
