The former site of Rongxian military government is behind the office building of Rongxian people's government.

It was the first county-level bourgeois democratic revolutionary regime established by the Chinese League during the revolution of 1911. It is the historical witness of the first break away from the feudal rule of the Qing Dynasty in the revolution of 1911. It is also the historical witness of the armed anti Qing banner and the establishment of revolutionary regime in the road protection movement in Sichuan Province. It has important historical and cultural value.

On October 7, 2019, it will be included in the list of the eighth batch of national key cultural relics protection units.

In September 1911, Wu Yuzhang, together with his fellow countrymen long Mingjian and Wang Tianjie, launched an uprising. On September 25, he announced the independence of Rongxian county and established a military government of Rongxian county to exercise military, political, financial and cultural power, which was the first of the 1911 revolutionary uprising. The military government was set up in the county office.

According to the records of Rongxian County, the former site of Rongxian military government was the Rongzhou government office in the Tang and Song Dynasties, which was burned in the end of the Yuan Dynasty due to war. The original site was restored and rebuilt 645 years ago (1374). 375 years ago, Jiashen year (1644) in the late Ming Dynasty was burned up again. 352 years ago, the original site was rebuilt in 1667, the sixth year of Kangxi reign of the Qing Dynasty.

In 1912, after the founding of the Republic of China, it was the residence of Rong county government. In the 1940s, the building was repaired on a large scale.

In 1911, with the upsurge of road protection in Sichuan Province, many places organized the army of road protection comrades. Under the organization of the alliance, Rong county raised the banner of anti Qing Dynasty and launched an armed uprising in August of that year. On September 25, under the leadership of Wu Yuzhang, Wang Tianjie and others, Rong county took the lead in breaking away from the rule of the Manchu Qing government and established the first county-level bourgeois democratic revolutionary regime, Rong County military government.

After the establishment of the Republic of China in 1912, it was the resident of Rongxian County Office. After the founding of the people's Republic of China, it was the office of Rong County People's government.

Witness the earliest separation of Rongxian from the Qing Dynasty

Rongxian military government was the first county-level bourgeois democratic revolutionary regime established by the Chinese League during the revolution of 1911. It was 15 days earlier than the establishment of Hubei military government and enjoyed an important position in the whole country.

Dr. Sun Yat Sen's political program of "expelling the Tartars, restoring China, establishing the Republic of China, and averaging land rights" is also on display in the exhibition hall of the former site of Rongxian military government.

The former site of the Rongxian military government is the witness of the evolution of local management institutions, has important cultural value, is the living textbook of the history of the 1911 Revolution in China, and is a historical and cultural card of Rongxian.
