Whale Valley is located 2 km south of Dizhai town in Bailuyuan, about 30 km away from Xi'an, at the junction of Baqiao district and Chang'an District. The natural scenery in the valley is beautiful, and the scenery varies throughout the year. In summer, the sun is covered with shade, and the air is cool. In late autumn, the red leaves are in full swing. In Shuo Dong, qunling is decorated with silver and Yushu pear flowers. The vegetation is luxuriant, the bamboo forest is green and luxuriant, the spring is Jingdong and zigzag, the clear water is sparkling, the microwave is rippling, the waterfall is hanging, the curtain is magnificent, the pearls are splashing jade. Known as Xi'an scenic spot.

Development history

It is said that in Gonggong's fury, the sky collapsed and the earth cracked. The sky and water poured down, and the world became a vast ocean. At that time, a pair of big whales in the East China Sea, carrying 77 common people, swam for 981 days to Bailuyuan in the eastern suburb of Chang'an. It happened that Nu Wa used the method of refining stones to mend the sky. The water of the sky soon subsided. The whales and the men and women they were carrying set aside and settled down. The good whale is drowned in the mud. Year after year, the times changed. One day, the emperor sent a message to build a city in Bailuyuan. Then the people from all over the world were drafted to build the city for forty-nine days. At this time, the whales were so overwhelmed that they were terrified. Suddenly, there was a huge sound in the air: "don't worry about the whales. I call you to swim in the East China Sea in an instant.". The voice just fell, the sky collapsed and the wind blew. With the first sound, the built city wall collapsed; with the second sound, the mud on the whale separated; when the third sound flashed, there was another high cry in the air: "whale, don't run away, wait for when!" so, in a hurry, the two whales swayed their tails and ran away, the male whale rushed to Lantian and swam into the Bahe River, and the female whale rushed into the Chan River. The two fish swim to the Weihe River to meet and head back to the East China Sea. The place where the whale used to be is a deep fish like ditch. Since then, people have called this deep ditch "whale ditch" and "bathing ditch".

Whale ditch used to be a small river, flowing through Lantian, Baqiao and Chang'an (which is the boundary river between Chang'an and Baqiao). In Dizhai area of Baqiao, Dizhai town of Baqiao is in the East, and Shouyang mountain (a cemetery) of Chang'an District is in the West. Occasionally, some water is accumulated in low concave places to form a small ditch.

Around the 1960s, in order to prepare for the war, a dam was built to store water. After several decades, a pool about 3 kilometers long was formed. It was always called "Jingyu Valley". It is estimated that it was the original name of this valley. According to folklore, the homonym is whale Valley. The surrounding mountains are planted with trees and bamboo forests. The scenery is OK. Remember that this is a valley. The so-called mountain is actually from the lower part of the valley All of them are soil.

There is no lack of historical sites in Shaanxi since ancient times. Beside the whale Valley is Bailuyuan (Bailuyuan by Chen Zhongshi). There are many historical sites of this generation, and there are many Mausoleum scenic spots. Whale Valley has three entrances, 1 high bridge, 2 Dizhai and 3 whale lake leisure villa.

Characteristic landscape

Whale valley scenic spot is a man-made lake composed of two connected reservoirs. Stretching for more than 3 kilometers, the lake is shimmering, the mountains on both sides stand up, the trees are lush, and the beautiful scenery of lakes and mountains makes people feel like entering a fairyland. There is a whale statue about 17 meters long at the entrance, with water spraying 8-9 meters high on its head. It is a good place for tourists to take photos. In the scenic area, there are not only typical loess landforms in the north, but also beautiful landscapes in the south. Natural and artificial lakes, waterfalls, beautiful mountains and rivers, pleasant climate, complex and diverse landforms, layers of mountains, far-reaching rivers and valleys, gullies on tableland, various forms, pines, cypresses, bamboos, exotic flowers and grasses, winding paths leading to seclusion. Folk caves in Guanzhong are scattered on the tableland wall, with ancient style lingering charm and ravines In the meantime, the peninsula can be seen everywhere, with steep terrain on the south bank and gentle sunshine on the north bank. With many platforms, it is the best leisure and summer resort in the suburbs of Xi'an.
