Xiaochan Temple
Xiaochan temple, located in Toutang village, Yixi Town, Chaozhou, Guangdong Province, was named Xiaochan Temple by Wu Ying, the magistrate of Chaozhou, Wang Yunyuan, the magistrate of Haiyang County, Liang Yinglong, Xie yuanbian, Weng Rulin, Cai Yuantong and Cheng Xinjian, the eminent monk in 1661.
Historical evolution
During the reign of Emperor Kangxi (1661-1722), Yang Zhongyue, a prefect, built the front seat. During the Anti Japanese War, the nunnery was broken and the incense was cut off. In 1982, Shanxin in Chaocheng was repaired, and the audio and video were made in the front seat, and the three saints of Huayan in the back seat. In 1988, Zheng Shiyan in Macao donated money to rebuild the main hall. From 1990 to 1992, zhongshanxin in Chaozhou City continued to donate to build Liangxiang lane, which were ancestral hall, Zhaitang, monk's house and storehouse. It was renamed Xiaochan temple. In front of the temple, a release pool and a light wall were built . Abbot Shi Xingqing.
Main landscape
Among the cultural relics in the temple are the stone wall at the back of the temple engraved with the poems of the magistrate Wu Ying (i.e. Wu Jianmo) in the early Qing Dynasty, which are now vague, and the hillside at the back of the temple has been destroyed, with a Putong tower.
