Zhaojun Island

Located about 30 kilometers south of Baotou City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, it is adjacent to the Yellow River in the South and faces Zhaojun Tomb of Yimeng across the bank. The other three sides are surrounded by tributaries of the Yellow River, so it is called "Zhaojun island".

It is 4 km long from east to west and 2.5 km wide from north to south. There are 25 species of xerophytes and desert plants, and about 25 species of birds. The natural environment on the island is beautiful. You can enjoy the scenery of the water town when you go up to the observation tower, the vast Yellow River in the South and the lush reed marshes in the north. On the island, there is a statue of Zhaojun with Pipa in his arms and a peculiar "three leaf tree" for tourists to watch. Besides ethnic food, yurt restaurant on the island also provides fresh Yellow River carp.

Surrounding landscape

Zhaojun island tourist area is located about 4 kilometers southwest of quanbatu township government in the suburb of Baotou city. It is a new tourist attraction funded by quanbatu township government. There are natural waterways such as Yueya Bay, Longmen Bay and passive stream, and natural grasslands covering an area of 8 square kilometers. Winter and summer migratory birds inhabit and breed on the island all year round. There are also red fox, Mongolian Rabbit, muskrat and white swan, a national second-class protected rare bird.

In order to facilitate tourists' sightseeing and vacation on the island, the tourist area is equipped with service facilities such as motorboats, yachts, ferries, yurts and ethnic restaurants.
