The Silk Museum of southern silk capital is the first private Silk Museum in Guangdong Province. It aims to reappear the ecological landscape of "Sangji fish pond" in Shunde, retain the glorious historical memory of the silk capital of southern China, show the origin of Shunde's manufacturing -- the course of silk industry from Ming Dynasty to modern times, sing the melodious song of the Silk Road, and carry forward the spirit of pioneering, enterprising, realistic and compatible that Shunde people once relied on.

The museum displays a large number of pictures, texts, specimens, ancient original equipment, facilities, tools, articles, costumes and rich silk products. Visitors can experience the activities of mulberry picking, silkworm rearing, silk reeling, cocoon stripping, weaving and dyeing.

Silk Museum of culture and history

It shows Shunde's silk culture history of more than 1000 years, the rich and colorful silk folk culture of sericulture farmers and weavers, as well as the custom culture of "self combing girl" and "ghost girl". In the Zhou Dynasty, China had set up a special sericulture management organization. In the Western Han Dynasty, Zhang Qian went to the western regions, opened the famous Silk Road, and established a channel to the Middle East and Europe. China's silk and sericulture technology also gradually spread to other countries along the silk road. Chinese silk was highly praised in ancient Rome, but today, Chinese silk is still famous for its high quality.

Silk Culture Museum

It shows the cultural history of the Silk Road; introduces the ecological agricultural culture of "Sangji fish pond" in Shunde; describes the changes of the distribution of sericulture areas and the world silk industry before and after the liberation of Guangdong; records the historical events of Guangdong silk; listens to the folk songs of silk reeling industry; appreciates the ancient weaving machines and spinning machines in the late Ming Dynasty.

Silkworm rearing house

To show the whole process from silkworm rearing to cocooning, display the silkworm rearing utensils of various ages, and the specimens of the whole growth process from silkworm hatching to moth, so that visitors can participate in mulberry picking and silkworm rearing.

Textile Industry Museum

This paper introduces the original warping, dyeing and weaving process, and shows the ancient weaving and dyeing equipment. Visitors can experience weaving and silk dyeing. You can also visit the technological process, production and product exhibition of Yue embroidery and silk quilt.

Lingnan cultural center

It provides a platform for the cultural circles of Lingnan to exhibit the poems, paintings and calligraphy of the southern culture, enriching the cultural heritage of the silk capital of southern China. Lingnan culture is an important part of the long and splendid Chinese culture, and a wonderful flower in the garden of Chinese culture. The materials unearthed from the sites of Lingnan ancestors prove that Lingnan culture is a primitive culture. Based on the unique geographical environment and historical conditions, Lingnan culture takes the agricultural culture and marine culture as its source. In the process of its development, it constantly absorbs and merges the Central Plains culture and overseas culture, and gradually forms its own unique characteristics. Lingnan culture is pragmatic, open, compatible and innovative.

There are a variety of silk products on display, including silk quilt, natural silk fibroin series cosmetics, Shunde's unique "fragrant yarn", silk clothing, costumes, silk stockings, silk scarves, embroidery, etc. Silk is composed of protein fiber, which has excellent biocompatibility with human body.
