They live in high mountains and dense forests. They often move in groups between the peak forests and canyons, climbing peaks and climbing cliffs like walking on flat ground. When they come here, they are vast and sweeping, and when they go there, they are nowhere to be found. In 1990, Huangshan Scenic Area and zhaixi village jointly built the Huangshan Fuxi natural monkey garden viewing area, also known as the Fuxi wild monkey valley.

Huangshan monkey, known as golden monkey, is a primate. It is the largest one in the monkey family. It has thick limbs, tall body, full muscles and bright eyes. Adult monkeys generally weigh about 15 kg, with the largest being more than 50 kg. It has a goatee, a long eyebrow and short tail, a round face, a long dark brown hair and pure color, so it is called golden monkey. And because its tail is less than 2 inches short, it is called short tailed monkey and broken tailed monkey, as if it had been cut off with a knife. Huangshan short tailed monkey is a unique species in China.

As early as 1985, Anhui University, Anhui Agricultural University, Hefei Xiaoyaojin Park, Kyoto University of Japan and Tokyo University of agriculture and technology have jointly established a Sino Japanese joint wildlife investigation team to conduct a six-year field investigation on the monkey population in Fushi, Huangshan. A series of living habits and ecological patterns of monkeys, such as habitat, foraging, etiquette, mating, reproduction and King competition, were studied by means of luring, guarding, domesticating, numbering, naming, recording and video recording. These research results have a certain reference for us to understand the evolution and origin of human beings.

Huangshan monkeys like to live in groups. The monkey king is the leader of the group, one king for each group. In the monkey Kingdom, the monkey king has the highest status, great power and the best enjoyment. However, in case of danger, it will immediately send out a signal, take the lead, charge ahead, do its duty and protect the "subjects". The monkey king's "love concubines" and their three or two cronies are the privileged members of the monkey group. Most members of the group followed the rules. A small number of weak monkeys, often bullied, are the lowest in the group. The life span of Huangshan monkeys is generally between 20 and 30 years, with one child and six months' gestation. Most of them are strong monkeys. The rule of survival of the fittest enables monkeys to survive and develop in the fierce natural competition. The mother takes care of the baby monkey in every way. She often holds the baby monkey under her chest and abdomen. She depends on each other all the time.

The monkey king's throne is not for life. But by their own strength. In the battle for the throne, every adult male monkey takes part in it with great ambition. The fight is extremely fierce. In the end, the winner is the king, and the loser goes to the field. In an instant, the former powerful Monkey King becomes the prisoner of the new monkey king, and is under the control of the new monkey king everywhere. In June 1992, there was a dispute over the "throne" in Hougu. A male monkey suddenly jumped up and rushed to the "one eyed Monkey King". In the fierce battle, he first broke the chin bone of the old monkey's mouth, and then tried his best to bite his waist muscles until the old monkey screamed and lost his throne. In order to show his dignity, the young monkey king first put "Lao Wang" under house arrest. Even the food given to "Lao Wang" by the trainer was strictly controlled by the young monkey king. Soon after, the young monkey king Youqiang occupied "Ai Fei" of "Lao Wang" and killed the "children" born to "Lao Wang" and "Ai Fei".

The monkeys in the monkey valley of Fuxi come at once, especially when they are feeding three hours apart every day. With the call of the trainer, the monkeys immediately scream from the forest, climb down the stone wall, quickly gather at the bottom of the valley under the waterfall, turn over the stones and compete for the corn scattered on the rocky beach. When the monkey king was fighting for food, the "love Princess" was favored, and the scene of bullying the weak was incisively and vividly displayed. After satiation, the monkeys play by the stream, groom on the stone, rub their shoulders and caress their heads with the breeders, or show their teeth to the tourists. When people are in this natural monkey garden, they can really appreciate the original interest of nature, which is very enjoyable.

The monkey valley of Fuxi not only adds a scene to Huangshan, but also adds vitality to the natural aura of Huangshan. It is an eco-tourism scenic spot worth visiting. In addition, Fuxi village has also developed leisure and health tourism by taking advantage of the local good natural environment.
