Jinfo cave is located in Jinfoshan, Nanchuan, which is connected with Longya ancient city in Dongpo. It is a karst cave with a height of 10-40 meters. The site of the Song Dynasty's Nao nitrate is found in the cave. It is under investigation and is expected to be open to tourists in 2017.

Historical evolution

In late May 2015, the Institute of nuclear research of New Zealand and Purdue University of the United States jointly explored the 5.7 million year old gravel layer in Jinfo karst cave. According to preliminary calculation, the gravel layer was formed in Miocene, and the high-altitude cave system where the stone layer is located is the oldest cave with actual dating results in China and even in Asia.

The cave, named "Jinfo cave", has a proven length of 12 kilometers and a height of 10-40 meters. In the cave, the site of aoxiao of Song Dynasty was found, which provides a better explanation for mengge folding wing fishing city.

Tourism information

On June 15, 2014, Jinfo Mountain scenic spot was successfully selected as a world natural heritage and listed in the world heritage list. This is the Second World Natural Heritage in Chongqing after Wulong.
