Qinliangyu cemetery is located at the back of Sanjiao temple, 7 kilometers east of Nanbin Town, Shizhu Tujia Autonomous County, Chongqing, covering an area of more than 20 hectares. It was built in 1648, the fifth year of Shunzhi reign of Qing Dynasty, which is the year when Qin Liangyu, a famous female general, died in the late Ming Dynasty.

Liangyu tomb is located in the middle of the cemetery, 50 meters behind the Xiaosanmen of Sanjiao temple. It is round, facing north and south. It is made of stones and has a volume of 106 cubic meters. In front of the tomb, there is a 27 square meter platform. The inscription on the tombstone reads: "Ming Shangzhu, guoguanglu, the official in charge of Sichuan and other places, the governor of the Han Dynasty, the general of Zhendong, printed the tomb of Qin Taijun, the left governor of the Chinese military, Prince Taibao Zhongzhen, Hou zhensu". The banner is "Gongming I", and the left and right couplets are: "attacking the land, serving the Qing Yi, the brocade and silk belt, admiring the official ceremony; the king of Qin has Mingzhen, a woman and a valiant general." On both sides of the monument, there are one Kirin, one green lion, one white elephant, one stone FIGURINE and one stone horse.

Eight meters up the tomb of Liangyu, there is the tomb of Ma Xianglin, the son of Liangyu. The inscription on the tombstone reads "general Hushi taboo Xianglin, the tomb of Ruiwei Fujun".

In the cemetery, there are more than 20 tombs for Qin Liangyu's generals Qin Huaiyuan, Ma Deyin and their descendants Ma Guangren and Ma youzhao. In front of the cemetery, you can see the "immortal cave" on the Bank of the Longhe River. This is the hanging coffin group.

The mystery of Qin Liangyu's real tomb

It is said that when Qin Liangyu died, 48 coffins went up the mountain at the same time and were buried in 48 graves of 48 landlords. A detachment rushed to Zhongzhou, Liangyu's hometown, and buried the rest 47 graves in Shizhu. The team of 48, who were idealistic about history, was afraid that they would be beheaded if they could not return at the prescribed time. They returned on time and ate at the same time. As a result, they were all forgotten because the food had been poisoned in advance. In this way, where Qin Liangyu's real tomb is has become an eternal mystery.
