Wenzhou Fucheng

Oujiang River in the north, mountains in the East and West, Huichang Lake in the south, with a circumference of 18 Li and a height of 3 Zhang and 5 feet, was built in the first year of Taining (323) in the Eastern Jin Dynasty, also known as jiudoushan City, Bailu city and Luocheng. The walls are made of brick and stone, surrounded by gates and moats.

During the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty, there were seven gates, namely, dongzhenhai, nanruian and Yongning, southwest Laifu, northwest Yingen and Yongqing, and North Gongchen. Xuanhe in Northern Song Dynasty, Jianyan and Jiading in Southern Song Dynasty, Zhizheng in Yuan Dynasty, Hongwu, Jiajing and Wanli in Ming Dynasty, Shunzhi, Yongzheng, Qianlong, Daoguang and Tongzhi in Qing Dynasty have been repaired. From 1930 to 1945, due to the development of urban traffic, the buildings were demolished one after another. At present, there is only the foundation of the great wall about 50 meters in the northeast corner of Huagai mountain.
