Mao Zedong, Zhang Wentian, Liu Shaoqi, Zhou Enlai, Zhu De and Ren Bishi, the leaders of the CPC Central Committee, have successively moved to live here and become the seat of the CPC Central Committee. During this period, the Party Central Committee led the Anti Japanese War, the rectification movement of the whole party, the mass production movement of the army and the people in the liberated areas, prepared for the Seventh National Congress of the Communist Party of China, and led the whole Party and the people to make full preparations for the comprehensive civil war launched by the Kuomintang reactionaries. In March 1947, Kuomintang reactionaries occupied Yan'an, and some of the buildings here were destroyed. After the founding of the people's Republic of China, it was restored as it was.

As a representative of the Chinese Communist Party, he often traveled to Yan'an, Chongqing and Nanjing to negotiate with the Kuomintang. In 1954, the old site of Zaoyuan revolution was restored and opened.
