Shima Peach Blossom Park is the first peach blossom themed Park in Guangzhou, located in Shima village, JUNHE street, Baiyun District, Guangzhou, with a construction scale of 149090 square meters. The first phase of the park was completed in mid December 2005.

Shima Peach Blossom Park

It is positioned as a comprehensive park integrating leisure, sightseeing, sports, activities and art exhibitions, and has become the largest comprehensive district level urban park in Baiyun District. The design of the park adheres to the principle of "people-oriented, advocating nature", and runs through the whole park with "the charm of Pearl River culture and the beauty of peach blossom". According to local conditions, the original pond is retained as the main scenic spot of the park, with a hydrophilic curved bridge. The park is divided into entrance square area, exhibition area, elderly activity area, children activity area, leisure activity area and natural scenic area

development history

It has been two or three hundred years since peach was planted in Shima village, Baiyun District, Guangzhou. Before the 1940s, fruit picking was the main way. The peaches produced here were small, green and white, with rouge spots near the middle seam. The fruit was sweet and crisp, and the peach flavor was rich. They enjoyed a high reputation among Hong Kong and Macao compatriots. Since the 1940s, peach blossoms have been introduced from Xinmu of Fangcun. Because Shima is located on the Bank of Liuxi River, the soil is fertile and soft, and it is suitable for peach trees to grow, so the more peach blossoms are planted, the more gorgeous they are, and gradually become an indispensable "role" in the spring flower market of Guangzhou. The flower of Shima peach has many pistils, fresh color and long flowering period, which is suitable for bottle culture. Every Spring Festival, it has become a custom for Guangzhou citizens to buy a peach blossom ready to go, bring home the full of spring, and express their best wishes for the new year through it. Because of the short flowering cycle and high income, it gradually replaced the position of Shima sweet peach. Now, planting peach blossom is not limited to Shima village, neighboring Qinghu village has also planted several hundred mu.

Famous writer Chen Canyun memorial hall, peach blossom tower, wooden plank road, tea tasting Pavilion, waterfall viewing gallery, peach blossom stream, etc. Taking the peach blossom pagoda as the center and connecting the entrances and exits through distinctive garden roads, it provides a rich and colorful activity place for the general public.
