South Main Canal Garden

The South Main Canal Garden is located between the fourth industrial road in Qingshan District and Gangdu garden in Qingshan District. Before 1984, it was an open drainage channel and a "Longxu ditch" that troubled the people of Qingshan District for many years. The total length of the South Main Canal is 5 km. In 1984, the open canal was changed into an underdrain, and a health protection forest belt was built. In 1990, all the isolated green belts were formed. The South Main Canal Garden project is divided into phase I, phase II and phase III, which was started in March 1996.

It was completed and opened in May 1998. The park covers an area of 222000 square meters, green area of 209200 square meters, green rate of 94.23%. The construction of the garden adopts the traditional and modern gardening techniques, including "fire phoenix" sculpture, barrier scenery, triangle Pavilion, curved bridge, corridor and radioactive garden road. The greening layout is mainly plant landscaping, with the combination of sparse forest and grassland, arbor, shrub, flower and lawn, fully reflecting the beauty of plant community, individual and season. There are 66 species of trees in the garden, including ancient cedar, Osmanthus fragrans, cherry blossom, camphor tree, red leaf plum, Magnolia grandiflora, Koelreuteria, with a total of 9900 trees.
