Paleolithic sites in Shanxi Province

According to identification and analysis, qilipo ape man lived earlier than the famous Beijing Zhoukoudian ape man and Shanxi Dingcun ape man. According to the strata and the fault zone of unearthed stone tools, the age of qilipo ape man is about 1 million years ago.

At that time, there were not only abundant aquatic plants and wild fruit trees, but also large groups of wild animals near qilipu. Qilipo people live mainly by collecting seeds of wild fruits and digging roots and tubers of wild plants. They have not yet begun to rely on capturing wild animals as food.
