Liji Bridge

In banqiaochang, Zhuyang Town, Jiangjin District, Chongqing, there is an ancient bridge Liji bridge, also known as "Wangu bridge", which has experienced more than 180 years of wind and rain. The bridge spans the Rongxi River and is made entirely of stone. Liji bridge is a magnificent bridge with carved columns and jade walls, which can be called a great spectacle.

Liji bridge was built in the late Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty by raising money from the local people, and was completed in 1826. The bridge is 84 meters long, 8.8 meters wide and 13.2 meters high. It is famous in Jiangjin and Yongchuan districts. It is one of the key cultural relics in Chongqing. At the end of the bridge, there is a memorial archway of Yang's Jiexiao stone. The stone railings on both sides are chiseled with patterns. The legendary "immortal stone" is still embedded in the middle of the bridge deck. Although it has gone through a hundred years of snow, rain, wind, frost and torrents, its grandeur and magnificence still amazes the world, and the legend about it has been handed down through the ages.

Liji bridge is inlaid with a piece of odd shaped stone. According to legend, this stone is a move to raise funds to build a bridge. It was moved by God and given by gods. Therefore, people call it "immortal stone", also known as "Luban stone".

At the two ends of Liji bridge, there were two stone archways, one large and one small, with two large stone lions standing under them. One of the memorial archways was erected by local people in memory of their adoptive mother. On one side of the bridge, there was a Wenchang temple. At the peak of incense, people from all over the country came to burn incense and worship Buddha. Unfortunately, the two ancient archways, the big stone lions and the large-scale Wenchang palace were destroyed by the "four old" in the cultural revolution.

Liji bridge in Qimen, Anhui Province

Liji bridge is located in Likou, Qimen County, Anhui Province. It was first built in 1772 of Qianlong reign of Qing Dynasty, and then collapsed by mountain torrents. It was built four times. The existing 5-hole stone arch bridge is built with bluestone in 1898 of Guangxu reign. It is 85 meters long, 8 meters wide and 11 meters high, with stone steps at both ends. There was a Guanyin Temple in the east of the bridge, and a Xizi furnace in the West. The furnace was square, with two floors up and down. The bottom floor was a paper burning furnace. The top of the furnace was covered with rafters and tiles. The eaves were high, and the bells and bells were jingling. The furnace was destroyed in the "Cultural Revolution". When Guxi highway was built in 1971, the highway bridge was rebuilt.

Tiantai Liji Bridge

There is a strange stone bridge outside the xiaoximen gate of Tiantai ancient city. Even if one steps on the bridge, it will shake, but it can still bear to carry thousands of people. It is said that this is because it was built by "living Buddha" Jigong.

At that time, the people repeatedly asked the government to build a convenient bridge on Zhexi. The new Duchi County turned a deaf ear to it, but coveted the goldfish from Guoqing temple and asked the abbot to give it to him. Jigong decided to treat him.

Duzhi County, holding the golden magic weapon of the town temple, sits on the Batai bridge, embracing in front and behind, boasting and fighting. It's not so impressive. Suddenly, a young monk came to the bridge, Jigong, an old monk's hat and broken Pu shoes. He said that he wanted to talk to the county magistrate. Du Zhixian thought that his dress was too elegant. He yelled, and the water fire stick fell down. But Jigong seemed to be OK. When they hit sour hands one by one, they said with a smile: "this time it's my turn!"

When Ji Gong fanned the plantain, the wind was strong, the rainstorm was pouring down, and the waves were rolling in Zhexi. Duzhi county and the Yamen servants were blown around by the wind, and fell down in the ditch. Soon, the corrupt official was dismissed because of his bad reputation.

Jigong gave the golden wooden fish a fan and said "change". The wooden fish became bigger and bigger and became a small flat hill. Later generations called it "Muyu mountain". What about the wooden fish handle? It with the stream to the small west gate, Jigong toward it gently blow breath, it became a stone arch bridge. Because Ji Gong's surname is Li, people call him "Li Ji Qiao". Later, it was called farewell, and now it is called Liji bridge.
