Xiaozhai

Xiaozhai was built in 1889, covering an area of more than 1000 square meters. It is the most intact Qing Dynasty residence in the ancient town. It was originally built by Wuju people surnamed Yang in the town. Later, it was sold to Xiao Bingli of the Xiao family of the wangzhong family, so it is called Xiao house.

Commemorative figures

Xiao Bingli (1881-1946), a famous fisherman, graduated from Suzhou Normal University. Later, he coached in "five high" and founded an electric lamp factory with Shen Baihan, Yan Darong and others. He once served as the vice president of the township Council and made many contributions to local public welfare. His son Xiao Naizhen studied in Germany in his early years. Her granddaughter, Xiao Fangfang, now lives in Hong Kong.
