Guizhou Provincial Museum

Guizhou Provincial Museum, a comprehensive museum, is located in the north of the middle section of Lincheng East Road, guanshanhu District, Guiyang city. It was established in 2007, started in 2010, and moved to the site on June 28, 2013. In early 2015, it was opened to the outside world for trial operation, covering an area of 70860 square meters and a total construction area of 46450 square meters.

Guizhou Provincial Museum has a total collection of more than 80000 pieces, with ethnic cultural relics, Guizhou paleontological fossils, Paleolithic relics, and various cultural relics reflecting local history, culture, and cultural diversity as its highlights. Among them, China's Miao costume library and China's Miao silver jewelry library rank first in China.

Evolution of construction

In 1953, Guizhou Provincial Museum was established.

In 1957, the old Guizhou Provincial Museum was built outside Liuguang gate.

In 1958, the old Guizhou Provincial Museum officially opened.

In 2007, the new Guizhou Provincial Museum was established.

In 2010, the new Guizhou Provincial Museum started construction.

On June 28, 2013, Guizhou Provincial Museum moved to a new one.

On January 24, 2015, the new Guizhou Provincial Museum was opened for trial operation.

In August 2016, the old museum of Guizhou Provincial Museum was transformed into Guizhou Art Museum.

On September 30, 2017, the new Guizhou Provincial Museum was fully opened.

Guizhou Provincial Museum covers an area of 70860 square meters, with a total construction area of 46450 square meters. The building is roughly divided into three parts: Central, Eastern and western. The eastern area is the public service area, including temporary exhibition, intangible cultural heritage exhibition, photography and painting exhibition, 4D cinema and youth Digital Experience Hall. The central area is the core functional area. The first and second floors are the basic Exhibition Hall of "ethnic Guizhou", the third floor is the basic exhibition hall of "historical Guizhou", and the other areas are the hall, restaurant and cultural relics warehouse The west district is the administrative office area of the museum.

Guizhou Provincial Museum has a collection of more than 80000 pieces, among which ethnic cultural relics are unique in China. admission ticket

Free of charge (you can make an appointment in advance or go to the museum directly on the day of the visit, and get the ticket at the ticket collection hall with your valid certificate).

Opening and closing time

Opening time: 9:00-17:00 (stop at 16:00) from Tuesday to Sunday.

Closing time: every Monday (except national holidays).

During the Spring Festival: it will be closed on New Year's Eve, open from 12:00 to 17:00 on the first day of the Lunar New Year (stop entering at 16:00), and open normally from the second to the sixth day of the lunar new year.
