On April 22, 2014, to commemorate the 45th "World Earth Day", Zhangjiajie World Geopark Museum, located in the core scenic spot Wulingyuan shuirao four scenic spots, was officially opened to global tourists free of charge after one year's upgrading.

Zhangjiajie World Geopark museum is divided into three parts: "entering Zhangjiajie", "protecting Zhangjiajie" and "experiencing Zhangjiajie". It has a comprehensive exhibition hall, a paleontology hall, a herbarium of animals and plants, an introduction Hall of historical figures, and a 5D Experience Hall of Zhangjiajie landform. It has a collection of more than 20000 specimens of various precious animals, plants, microorganisms, fossils of Paleontology and minerals.
