Roaring mountain

Houshan is located in Gaobu Town, Yuecheng District, Shaoxing City, Zhejiang Province. Its original name is "gouting mountain", also known as "Goushan". Later, it takes the local dialect homophony and changes to "Houshan". It has unique natural scenery and a long cultural history. Since the Han Dynasty, after thousands of years of stone cutting and nature's creation, it has formed a unique natural landscape of mountains, stones, caves and water depth, which is an outstanding representative of Shaoxing stone culture.

Introduction to scenic spots

Houshan scenic area is composed of five parts: Houshan Park, Shanshui Park, water park, Huaguo Park and zhanyan park. It has 48 scenic spots, especially stone scenery. Roaring mountain peach blossom festival is the annual peach blossom season in roaring mountain, Gaobu Town, Shaoxing County. Today, the 19th roaring mountain peach blossom festival is held to make tourists feel the fun of "enjoying peach blossom on a green outing, climbing mountains and watching strange stones".

"Chessboard stone" is the essence of Shoushan Stone scenery, and "Yun Shi" is one of the 12 scenic spots of Yue Zhong.

Introduction to scenic spots

Chessboard stone

It is located in the middle of the mountain, isolated and independent, with a height of more than 30 meters and a circumference of more than 10 meters. There are three horizontal stones on it. Cui Wei is strange. It is said that two immortals play chess here and get their name. "Yuntai" is thick at the top and thin at the bottom. It stands upright in the air, with an oval boulder on the cross. It looks like a cloud, like flying from the sky, so it is called "Yunshi".

There is a spring under the rock named "yunshiquan". The water quality is clear and sweet, and it is not dry all the year round. Thousands of peach trees are planted on the gentle slope of the mountain. In spring, the Peach Blossom Festival is held here every year. The flat peach is one of the best fruits in Yuezhong.

Lu You, a patriotic poet of the Southern Song Dynasty, admired the scenery of Houshan mountain. He moved to live here from Lu ruins, and his descendants multiplied. There are many buildings, including front house, back house, east house, middle house and west house. Lu's family temple was built in the north of the mountain, and peach trees were planted everywhere.

Shuishidang is located in the East, and the stone beams span between the rocks. There are holes in the middle, which can pass through the boat. On the cliff, there are inscriptions such as "release pool", "guanyuyue" and "Wulingyuan". The original Pavilion on the top of the mountain is several Ying, which is the "shikuishan house" compiled by Tao Wangling in Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty.

"Free pool" was originally a stone pool left after quarrying. It was filled with water. The pool was deep and cold. A stone beam on the pool, three or four meters long, crossed the water surface from the north. Under the beam, there were two holes of different sizes. The small hole was like an elephant trunk. A solitary rock was suspended from the top of the mountain and directly explored the bottom of the water, just like "elephant trunk sucking water". The residual stones in the pool are of different shapes, and the water and stone reflect each other to make people linger and forget to return.

Yanluo cave

Located at the foot of Houshan mountain, the cave has a width of more than 30 mu. Along the Taoyuan path, it enters from the moon gate. Suddenly, it becomes clear that there are stone walls on three sides, and there is a deep pool in it. A spring comes down from the top of the mountain, and a waterfall forms a curtain, which is called "ambergris water". The cave was named after Tao Yunyi, the son of Tao Dalin, the Minister of rites of the Ming Dynasty.

Yunshidun

It stands tall in the air, thick at the top and thin at the bottom. It is oval in shape, with huge stones on the top, which are dangerous and inclined. The word "Yunshi" was written by Bao bin in 1936. There are 5 pavilions near the overburden rock, named "Wanji Pavilion". In front of the pavilions, there is a Feiquan pool with sweet water, named "Yunquan".

Shouning Temple

In the old days, Wanji nunnery was built in Dongshan by the ancestors of Lu you. It is half a ancestral temple and half a family temple. Now it is relocated and rebuilt in the Houshan scenic area, with Tianwang hall, Daxiong hall and Sutra collection building. Just like the pattern of Chinese temples, it is an open temple.

Flower and fruit garden

Flower and fruit garden is a major feature of the scenery of Houshan. The flowers and fruits on the slope are in harmony with the landscape. Known as "Huaguo Mountain", Houshan peach forest has a long history. It has been opened up by Mr. Cai Yuanpei for more than 70 years. In spring, thousands of peach trees are in full bloom. The scenic area becomes a sea of flowers, which is magnificent.

There are many fruits for people to taste in Houshan, such as peaches, oranges, loquats, sweet persimmons, apples, grapes, pears, etc., especially flat peaches and "Caigong peaches" with thin skin and fine flesh.

In addition to the above, there are still shuidang, Shengou mountain protection, Shenxian bath, Shengui Pavilion protection, shiyaomen, patio, frog climbing to the sky, toad stone, monk hat stone, and Wugou welcoming guests.

Houshan has both unique natural scenery and rich cultural landscape. Gou Jian, king of Yue, raised dogs and hunted deer here. Lu You, a patriotic poet, lived in Houshan. Celebrities of all ages left footprints in Houshan, such as Tao Wangling, Zhang Dai, Yuan Hongdao, Xu Wei, Tao Yunyi, Cha Shenxing in Ming Dynasty, and Tao Chengzhang, Cai Yuanpei, Lu Xun in modern times. There are many cliff stone carvings of historical celebrities, such as Zheng Banqiao, Pingdu, Li Ciming, sun Jiagan, Liu Zhengyi, Liu Xianzu, Zhao Qing and so on. There are some pictures of the 48 episodes of the TV series "myth" in Houshan. The 30 episode large-scale TV series "King Yue Goujian", jointly shot by CCTV China TV drama production center and Shaoxing TV station, held a launching ceremony in Huoshan scenic spot in Shaoxing, Zhejiang Province.

Houshan is in the east of Shaoxing City, about 12 kilometers from the East Lake.

If you get off at the railway station, take No.1 bus over there to Gaobu hub station and transfer to 361. On weekends or holidays, No.1 bus can go directly to Houshan. Self driving:

Starting from Shaoxing City, you can drive along Renmin East Road to Houshan road. Or take the direction of national highway 104 Shangyu, (pass Gaobu) and turn right at the intersection of Houshan.

From Fusheng exit of Zhushao expressway, foreign tourists can turn left (in the direction of Yuecheng District) to enter Fusheng connecting line, and then turn left to go forward to Houshan highway (remember to turn right at the intersection and go straight ahead)
