Yuanxiang Lake

Yuanxiang lake is the core landscape of Jiading new town and the largest artificial lake in the west of Shanghai. Its land area is about 60.89 hectares, including 27.04 hectares of land area and 33.85 hectares of water area. The shape of the lake is like the "sea" of Shanghai, echoing the "up" shape of Shanghai circuit in Jiading new city.

Yuanxiang lake is the core landscape of Jiading new town and the largest artificial lake in the west of Shanghai. Its land area is about 60.89 hectares, including 27.04 hectares of land area and 33.85 hectares of water area. It is one of the key projects of the "four landscapes" project of Jiading new city in 2008. The landscape project is located at the east end of the central axis of Jiading new city. Its size is about four times that of people's Square, 8.5 times that of Xujiahui Park, and 34 times that of Nanhuizui Sea View Park, the landmark of Lingang New Town, of which the lake area is more than half.

Yuanxiang lake takes its meaning from Zhou Dunyi's "love lotus theory" in the Song Dynasty: "you can only love lotus out of mud but not dyed, clean water but not demons, straight from the middle and straight from the outside, with fragrance far and clear, and pure plants in pavilions and pavilions. You can watch it from a distance but not play with it." Its artistic conception is in line with the planning pattern of Jiading new city, which is "one forest per kilometer, one lake per hundred meters, connected by rivers and lakes, full of lotus fragrance". In the planning, Yuanxiang lake is opposite to F1 racetrack at the west end of Jiading new town's central axis, which is distributed at both ends of the central axis. The racetrack of the racetrack is in the shape of "Shang", which echoes the shape of "Shang", while the shape of Yuanxiang lake is in the image of "Hai". Overlooking from a high altitude, the words "Shang" and "Hai" echo each other from afar.

Designer

Yuanxiang lake is designed by the world famous Netherlands Nita company, one of the World Expo designers. The shape of the lake is like the "sea" of Shanghai, echoing the "up" shape of Shanghai circuit. The major feature of this design is that the whole lake is no longer the whole water area from one eye to the end, but is divided into different lake areas. Walking on the lake embankment, the water on both sides is rippling. It's like walking on the water. Every step and every bridge has its own scenery. At the same time, with Yuanxiang Lake as the core, 17 lakes, such as Hexiang lake and Lvzhu pool, are connected in series, just like crystal pearls inlaid in the new city. The scenery of the whole city is one after another, with lakes in the lake and islands in the lake.
