Hongkou District Library is a library, located in Hongkou District, Shanghai, built on December 28, 2010.

The new library of Shanghai Hongkou District started construction in June 2009, completed in November 2010, and officially opened to the public on December 28, 2010. With a total construction area of 10700 square meters, the design has a total collection of more than 300000 books, more than 500 seats and 512 network information points, meeting the construction standard of national first-class Library (prefecture level).

The new library fully embodies the people-oriented service concept, with open service as the main, comfortable environment, pleasure and leisure, fast and convenient, so that readers can make full use of all resources of the new library, realize the combination of paper books and digital resources, and provide integrated services of collection, borrowing, reading, checking, viewing and listening, so as to create a humanistic atmosphere of people in books and books beside people. Provide corresponding space to meet the cultural needs of the public and carry out diversified social and cultural activities.

The library will reasonably arrange the book borrowing area, leisure area and administrative area, and it will become an information, network, intelligent, safe and environmental protection, convenient and practical library with distinctive style of the times and cultural implication of Shanghai style, which integrates the functions of learning and reading, information exchange, cultural leisure, art exhibition and Sino foreign cultural exchange.
