Zhenwu Temple

Zhenwu temple is located in fozizhuang Township, Fangshan District (62 km away from the center of Beijing). It was built in Ming Dynasty, more than 500 years ago. Zhenwu temple is a three entrance courtyard with two main halls dedicated to Zhenwu emperor and Bixia Yuanjun respectively.

Zhenwu temple has four side halls, two side halls, two companion buildings and more than ten mountain houses, with a total construction area of 3000 square meters. Zhenwu temple is the central temple of dozens of villages around the clock tower. Because the Taoist temple is very spiritual, and the main hall is dedicated to Emperor Zhenwu, it is known as "little Wudang" in the north by Taoism.

Brief introduction to temples

Zhenwu Temple (Xuanwu temple, Changping District) is located in Huangtu East Village of Huilongguan community in the north of Beijing. Zhenwu temple was founded in the late Ming Dynasty and early Qing Dynasty. In history, there were many pilgrims and incense. Now it is a key cultural relic protection unit in Beijing. In 2009, it invested more than 200000 yuan and was rebuilt,

 

It is the most complete ancient architecture of Ming and Qing Dynasties in Changping District.

Layout structure

In Zhenwu temple, there are front hall, back hall and left and right side halls. The main hall is for emperor Zhenwu, with hair and bare feet, sitting on the top of the hall. There are golden boys and jade girls next to them. There is a three legged dragon claw red copper censer in front of the hall. There are two Guardian gods in the front of the hall. On the left side, there is a powerful Green Dragon Statue, and on the right side, there is a brave white tiger statue. Zhenwu temple is now a free Temple of Taoism in China.
