Chaoyin cave

Chaoyin cave is located in front of zizhulin nunnery in the southeast of Putuo Island, at the foot of Longwan. It is not willing to go to the sea under guanyinyuan. Half immersed in the sea, the cave is about 30 meters deep, about 10 meters deep from the cliff to the bottom of the cave. The grotesque rocks crisscross in the cave, and the canine teeth are dense, which can't be tolerated. Here the coast twists and turns back and forth, crag rock cliff, strange rock layer upon layer. The bottom of the cave is open to the sea, and there are two gaps on the top, which are called skylights. In 1699, the Royal script "chaochaoyindongyindong" was engraved on the cave wall.

The mouth of Chaoyin cave is open to the sea. Day and night by the waves beat, the tide rushes into the hole, the potential is like a flying dragon, the sound is like thunder, so it is called Chaoyin cave. When the tide rises, it looks down on the rock like a dragon's feet. It is full of danger and strange things. In case of windy weather, the spray will splash, and the foam will rush to the "skylight". On a sunny day, the seven rainbows appear in the cave, which is a wonder.

The stone cliff is engraved with three characters of "show up". According to reports, pilgrims to Putuo during the song and Yuan Dynasties often asked for Bodhisattva's blessing in front of Chaoyin cave. After the Ming Dynasty, he went to the fanyin cave to ask the great master Guanyin to show his spirit. Pilgrims often jump down the cliff and die in order to live in the Western Paradise. In the Qing Dynasty, the phenomenon of sacrificing one's life became more and more serious, so yingsui, the magistrate of Dinghai County, built a pavilion on the bank, and wrote a tablet to forbid sacrificing one's life. Now the pavilion has been destroyed and the monument is still there.

There is a small natural stone spring in the gully above the left side of Chaoyin cave. The stone wall is engraved with the word "Guangming pool". The old name here is "Ganlu pool", and the mountain people call it "Huiquan". Buddhist believers often pray for holy water here to cure eye diseases. It is said that during the Zhengde period, the Empress Dowager sent an emissary to take the water from the pool to treat eye diseases and recovered, so it was renamed "Guangming pool". There is also a small hole beside Chaoyin cave, named shancai Longnv cave. It is said that it is the place where shancai and Longnv live beside Guanyin.

In the East China Sea corner of zizhulin forest, to the south of baibusha, there is an ancient cave named Chaoyin cave. It is said that in the first year of the Tang Dynasty, an Indian monk burned ten fingers at the entrance of the cave to worship Guanyin. The cave was suddenly full of splendor. The master of Guanyin appeared and was awarded seven color gems. Since then, Chaoyin ancient cave has been covered with a layer of mystery, and believers have come to imitate it and worship Buddha. At present, the "no burning finger tablet" erected by Li Fen, the governor of the Ming Dynasty, and Chen Jiusi, the general of the Ming Dynasty, still remains on the cave, which shows the faithfulness and piety of the believers of the past dynasties. Chaoyin ancient cave is adjacent to Canghai in the East. The word "Chaoyin cave" between the cliffs of the cave entrance was written by Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty in 1699. The crevices between the rocks on the top of the cave are like windows. It is said that Guanyin Bodhisattva has repeatedly appeared here. Since hui'e, a Japanese monk in the Tang Dynasty, left the statue of Guanyin beside the cave together with the merchants of Silla, it has been regarded as the birthplace of the sea heaven Buddha kingdom. Every year, thousands of tourists from Japan, South Korea and other countries come to pay homage to it.
