Tongjin Bridge

Tongjin bridge is located on the ancient canal of dongdajie. It was built in Song Dynasty and is a single hole stone arch bridge.

It is the first bridge in Nanxun and the intersection of the cross shaped water system. During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, it was a very prosperous silk trading place in Nanxun.

When you come in from the North District, you can see it at a glance, reflecting the water shadow into a circle, which is typical of the taste of Jiangnan Water Town.

Bridge is a major feature of Nanxun ancient town. When you look at Nanxun from the bridge, you seem to be in the past.

Tongjin Bridge

Tongjin bridge is located in Xintang village, Xinsi town. It was built in 1216 A.D. in the ninth year of Jiading in the Southern Song Dynasty. It is the oldest stone arch bridge in the area and one of the few stone arch bridges in Shanghai in the Song Dynasty.

Two thousand year old Ginkgo biloba trees planted in the early Song Dynasty are one of the seven thousand year old "longevity" trees in Shanghai. They have the largest crown in the city. Standing in the shade of lush trees, they can't help feeling the virtue of shade of their predecessors. Ancient trees and bridges, standing on the quiet rural river, are worth enjoying.
