Evergreen shrubs or small trees, up to 7 m tall, glabrous. Leaves opposite; oblong to oblanceolate oblong, 7-15 cm long, 2-5 cm wide, apex short acuminate and acute, base long cuneate, entire or near upper part with very sparse denticles; papery; petiole 1.5-2.5 cm long. Panicle axillary, shorter than petiole. Florets arranged closely; corolla white or greenish white; bracteoles ovate oblong or ovate triangular; petiole very short, 1-2 mm long; calyx 4-toothed, ca. 1 mm long, lobes obtuse, with eyelashes; corolla lobes 4, ca. 3 mm long. Drupe oblong, 1.5-2 mm long, purple black when ripe. The flowering period is May.

It is distributed in Guangdong, Guangxi and Taiwan.
